Yes and hopefully it continues but the COVID hospital numbers do reflect the restrictions and vaccination rates note 20% of COVID hospital cases do end up in ICU and that's a problem.

Little that's talked about is the risk incurred by the front line medical staff and the conditions they endure to carry out care, hero's of our time.

2 years in and 1% of the Aussie population has contracted Covid. At last report I saw for NSW was that at peak (back in September / October) 15% of people in ICU beds have also had Covid, with 85% of ICU beds occupied. So that is about 12% of ICU beds had patents in them who had covid, not all were there because of covid, some were, some weren't.

How flat do we want this curve ? At this rate to get 80% infected and herd immunity achieved it will take 160 years. Vax booster shot very 4 months means 480 shots.

I think you misunderstood what I said, I was suggesting that YOU ignore the 'quackery' and just get on with what you clearly already believe. Your standard of proof for anything scientific seems to be "it's beyond me, so I won't bother" and then anything that aligns with what you already believe seems to be "good on ya boy, I agree too".

With that sort of approach, nothing can change and you cannot understand. I doubt you want to.

You don't seem to understand vaccination, yet you then stand behind people's claims about it? How does that work? Do you understand how a vaccine works? Do you understand how a virus becomes vaccine resistant, and why that is different to antibiotic resistance?

The point about 'a dragon in the garage' is apt. 'We' cannot prove to you there is not one there if you insist that one is and refuse to accept any logic that shows you it is not.

You're right I don't pretend to know everything about everything. I have been listening to a variety of experts in different fields for the past 18 months & trying to put all the jigsaw pieces into a coherent picture. Obviously that picture doesn't align with your views. That's fair enough.

I think the herd immunity bit is gone COVID appears to change variants too often for that to happen and I don't hear that any longer in the discourse amongst the various agency's.

Best hope is that the variants get weaker but what the end game if any is anyone's guess.

I'm hearing conflicting evidence of this too however a few scientists I listen to say it would be very unlikely you wouldn't gain some immunity benefits from prior infections hence why it could be dropping so fast in South Africa.
