a few rides in now on the 1095. currently running 178 tail. i shimmed the tail for more lift today with a 1.5 degree shim (not the takuma one i have custom ones i cant remember where i got them). the pump is beastly BUT its really stiffened up the turning. which i knew it would do. but i was hoping it didnt stiff it up this much. im gonna try a mast shim tomorrow with no tail shim and see how that goes. i noticed with the pump that i really had to slow it down compared to the go foil stuff i was riding before. with go foil i found really fast shallow stabs was the best pump. the 1095 seems to like slower pumps where you milk the glide a bit more and rip your hips forward and stand up straight to get that glide. was a nice feeling. might have just been the shim i had in today though.
Anyone stuffed around with tuning the 1095 yet? anyone experimented with reducing the lift with tail shims? interested to know how that feels. i have a sneaking feeling that no tail shim with a mast shim to increase lift might give me the happy medium im after. but ive never mast shimmed so i wont know till i try it.
cheers!
I guess it also depends on your mast : alu ou carbone, those have different angle.
I have alu mast and put a 0.5 shim in front of the front screw of the rear wing. I lke it this way but need to try others combo and see how it goes. Such as base plat shim but also moving forward the mast. Right now it is at 20cm from the tail on my 4'3.
Seems like Adam put forward on his box. He said he uses plat shim but I think because his board has a bit of rocker, and he put a 0.5 shim on the rear as well.
"I shim the stab -1 (front bolt) and shim the base plate 1 degree (back bolt)"
