Carrying on my tradition of purchasing last years news, I just got a 980 to replace my 1300. Paired with the carbon mast/fuse, and a KD 13.5" shimmed with his 1.5 and .5, I went out today and realized that the LOL 1300 is garbage next to a Kujira. The 1300 has much more initial lift to the point of being difficult to control, is less roll stable, and doesn't glide nearly as well. I know it's old hat on this forum, but the Kujira is really good because it's high performance and easy to use. The worst thing with the 1300 is that as I kick out and pump for speed, it will sometimes flip over in a violent and painful way. Not sure if the tip breaches as I turn, or what, but it sucks. The 980 just glides over the whitewater and then is much more stable to begin pumping. And it pumps in a way that I can feel what's going on. My game just went to the next level because of confidence taking off, stability while gliding, and did I mention speed on small waves!

I think the 1600 is a decent sup foil if the waves aren't too steep, and a great wing foil, but I'll be replacing it with one of the new ones or the 1210 as cash and availibility coincide.

I'm no expert just been chatting to someone that has a 1095 on Insta, the 1095 does not replace the 1210 it sits between 980/1210.
From a prone perspective:
1) Turns better than 1210 (not far off the 980)
2) Less lift on takeoff than both 980/1210
3) Wingspan is slightly more than 1210
4) Lower stall speed than 980 but not as low as 1210
5) More efficient to pump & better glide compared to 1210 (hard to believe as 1210 has excellent pump/glide)
6) Has some flex - feels a little springy
7) Faster than 1210

so basically it's for winging

The foil shop in seal beach sells all the pieces separately. Well not the mast maybe. But fuse and front wings stand alone. They just got their website live too.

Photos below.. making the 1210 turn tighter and pumping out of the hole easier, overall great upgrade, fuselage bending because of the new hole possible, to be monitored. Will try an even shorter fuse soon!

Light to the point it was a problem in high winds having the board flip over and have the foil tomahawk my wing.

It will be interesting to see if the mast is quality or more crap production stuff. Bent fuselages, bent masts, wiggly wings, cracking tubercles-honestly what a burn.

Anyways, I switched to Project cedrus as I'm 90kg, need stiffness and use a couple/few different systems. It will be interesting to see if the mast actually drags.

Interesting feedback on the masts.. do you feel a difference of drag between nolimitz and cedrus?

I have a Cedrus Clydesdale 85cm currently using with Cloud9 F-series.

Compared to Cloud9, Armstrong and Naish masts I did feel a drag difference at first. I'm used to it now and have had some of my best sessions on that setup. Cedrus is super stiff and light.

The profile is similar to a GoFoil mast drag wise.

Any reviews yet on the 1095? I certainly interested...

I tried a 1440 today in smallish waves - I normally use 1210 for SUP and wing. I was hoping it might work as a SUP downwind wing but not sure as I felt no discernable improvement in take-offs. It needed more or less the same amount of push as the 1210 to get board up to foilable speed.

Once up the turning and pumping is predictably quite different, felt much stiffer and the pumping was really weird. I couldn't really find a rhythm where the foil communicated lift and drive but the foil's stall speed seems much higher as the foil never really wanted to drop. If I tried to pump and paddle at the same time I could keep it going quite nicely, much longer than 1210 and this would be promising for downwind use.

I used the Signature KD Mach1 tail stab which works great with the 1210. Will have to try with the Kujira std tail and the 178 and see what happens, I guess.

The search for optimum paddle downwind foil continues.....I weigh 89kg and getting on, so it has to be easy....

Read on one of MP's Insta clips that he was using a + shim (I always shim neutral or negative), so tried it today with my 1210/Pedigo tail - big improvement on how tight you can crank it through turns & think I just had my best session on the 1210 so far.

Broke a tip of my 1210 yesterday, have to decide to have it repaired to original or to take the other tip off as well.

I don't want a foil that turns a little bit better but is more difficult for me.

Will take her for a spin tomorrow morning & will hold off commenting until I've got a few sessions on her, have heard that the 1095 is not as forgiving as the 980 & 1210 but once you get it dialled .

Also read that it can match the speed of the 980 & glide of the 1210, hard to believe so it's going to be interesting, hope my skills are good enough but may take some time.
