I guess the GT1050 will be more agile than the RS1000, but slower (not sure if this is true as it's smaller but AR is lower), but maybe that's what you need for those big waves.

It feels weird saying this but the GT1250 didn't feel like as much front foot pressure as the RS1150, and had both in the same mast position.

I try rs1000 and gt 1050 the same day, winging with same set up an spot...i felt the rs was faster and way more stable at speed! I flet the gt make some lace with the board flat...and rs was more like "rail to rail" in turn...and a little bit more stable so easier to take off in my opinion..

One day of tropical winging. No I don't think I'll be winging on my new RS stuff Thank you very much.

Rs 1150...first day, full speed rock bonk....I felt that sound into my my soul. Scratched up, that's it, got that out of the way, now i own it.

Today...lost my kd stab...doh. I put on my

17.5 long flip tip, my main wing stab. And the 1150 was no longer magic. Really interesting , I

don't think I've noticed such a dramatic change from stab. It was tracking straight, lost that

wow looseness. Harder to get on foil oddly. And pumping dropped by half....felt like I had a brake on. I am getting

fixed tails next week....now more stoked than ever.

Had a really interesting day testing out some of the other GF gear today. GT 1050 EZ1600

Dark horse for the win. The EZ seriously blew my mind. On the flat it was super easy to use and fun but slower than I'm used to. In the waves this thing absolutely rocked. Turns are really tight and as the foil doesn't accelerate heaps during turns you just stay with the wave. It was totally under tailed with the 12.5S but still a blast. It worked great until I tried to straighten out and outrun a head and a bit high wave. It's made me wonder about the smaller versions of this.
GT1050 was also given a good run. I have been wondering about this wing as I originally ordered both this and the 1000, but kept the 1000. It again felt under tailed with the 12.5S. So until I try ot with a 14.5s I'll keep it brief. Turns were tight and surf like. Slightly slower than the 1000 but as it doesn't accelerate as much in the turns I found it hanging in the fun part of the wave more. Doesn't have the glide of the 1000 but that is to be expected. Great first session

Just got back on GoFoil after a couple years on signature foils. I've started on the RS1150 as I was told it would be a comparable wing to my 210 Albatross that I use for Sup Downwinders. There hasn't been much wind since I bought the 1150 so I've been using it on my prone board. Very pleased with the speed/glide/pump/turning ability. The waves I used it in were up to head high. Yesterday the waves were overhead so I borrowed the RS1000 for a go. Wow! That wing felt more like a short board than any other I've tried. It might be my next purchase unless I find the GT1050 to be better. As expected, the 1000 took more effort to pump back out for doubles but I think knowing that I'll learn to keep the speed up. I used the FTS-14 on both without changing anything else.

I got to try the GT1050 it Surf's and turns super good, you give up a bit of pump of course vs 1250. But if we had bigger surf regularly I would have one!

If the gap is like 5mm or more I would suggest a light sand inside the foil connection if you put some white texta on the mast then fit, you can identify where it's grabbing and where to sand.

the reason I say this is I had noticeable turbulence / vibration FTS tail, but once the gap was reduced to about 1mm it was smooth as butter.

Do not sand the fuselage / mast connection!

Just quickly on the connection, this is normal. It's a wearing part so the gap gets smaller the more you back it on/off. If too much wobble you can slightly pack the spigot.

I had a super quick blast on the 1150 proning yesterday. God damn the pump and turn is amazing. Was into a 12-15kt head wind and was still able to score a few doubles and triples.

Hilly I'll be keen to get you out on the 1050. I had a lot of fun on it.

I must say having now ridden the whole lineup albeit in limited sizes the methodology behind the lines makes sense.

The EZ is exactly that, easy riding and super easy fun carving on the waves, stays where you want it to without rapid acceleration during turns.

GT is a step up in all aspects of performance, turns really nicely and acceleration during the turn is easy to manage. Stable and rail to rail transitions are quick and rewarding.

The RS line is everything that the GT line does but slightly more so. More glide. More speed and more acceleration out of turns. However it is still super stable and easy to manage, it is still be go to range for what I do.

I know I said it in my previous post but being a beginner at present would be awesome. One mast and tail and 3 ranges of amazing foils to carry you through progression.

Windy season has apparently finished.

I've been a frustrated bugger sweating it out in various crap WA locations. Waves and conditions have been looking all time.


Can't wait for the weekend in the water. Time to get this 1150 dialed.

Still need to work out how to get the most out of this wing surfing, it generates a heap of speed coming off the top. I guess it does open the door to a more conventional bottom turn hit the face and repeat style - like surfing - awesome

Rich been doing some swapping of the 14.5 and the 12.5 on both the 1250 and the 1150 pretty amazing options to have, curious to try the 12.5 ftl!

Finally got some wind here so I did a couple downwinders. I used the rs1150 with the fts14. Same setup as prone I have been using. Very pleased with how it handles speed while still allowing turns that I couldn't do on my 210 albatross. It lifted out of the water reaIly well. I have the ftl14 as well but haven't tried it yet. Looking forward to trying it and noting the results.

12.5 is great on both the 1250 1150 and even tried it on 1400. Just matching the tail to the conditions. I've found I like the 14.5 when it's bigger and def if it's bigger and choppy. You get added control and more stability and the pump is better. It's not really boosty which is great. Been fun to mess around, good stuff.

btw the GT1400 os gonna be $ for tiny Florida summer surf and for doing some small day shore runners as well. Pumps great and turns pretty darn well!

Anyone know these rough measurements?

Distance to the LE of the 14.5fts
Distance to the LE of a tail wing as it sits on the 9.5 pedestal
Would the 9.5 pedestal be roughly similar to a 14.5ftl?
