She just sounds like everyone on these forums who is labelled an anti-vax loon (excepting the actual anti-vax loon of course).

So even the actual anti-vax loon poses no more a risk than anyone else to those who believe in the miracle covid vax.

Maybe, just maybe, the big issue here is that somebody called it a vaccine, and others belived them, when it doesn't actually vaccinate.

Yeah, true. But it may make you more likely to be concerned about any side-effects whether they were minimal or significant.

Psychology suggests that when you already have a negative viewpoint towards something or someone that you are more likely to have a negative reaction to it/them when something happens.

I wonder if a test of giving someone a tetanus injection versus a covid vaccination would result in anything useful as to whether it was a reaction to the particular vaccine or specifically the covid vaccine. Of course, this is unethical so will never happen.

I remember sitting in a function centre waiting for my first vaccination, keen to get it over with. I had no reaction to it all as far as I could tell and it was only the 3rd I think I noticed one. I wonder if I would have looked at my response to the vaccine much more negatively if I was doing it only to keep my job?

The was a placebo group in my trial, which incidentally was sponsored by Dr. Nick Coatsworth. No adverse events in that group.

Maybe because he is in his Mid-40s and has been exposed on a regular basis over the past two years, vaccines might not offer much benefit to him?

I was about to just get started with dictionary definition war over this one, but it's easy enough to look up various definitions of Vaccine and Immunity to find the ones that suit your argument best.
There are plenty prior to 2020 that use phrases like "stimulating an immune response by the host, who is thus rendered resistant to infection"
or "used to stimulate the development of antibodies"

I think the bigger issue here is the implied Nirvana fallacy. (comparing actual things with unrealistic, idealized alternatives)
Along the lines "it doesn't produce sterilizing immunity and it's not 100% safe", therefore it can be considered worthless.
In this case, implying its worth is no better than an Anti-histamine or de-congestant for symptom relief.

I'm just tired of the last few years how the media, society, government and certain individuals on here banging on about 'anti-vaxxers'. It's like drivers complaining about cyclists holding up traffic. It's a non issue.

I didn't think that was the case, but it seemed like you were making it out that finding the origins was more important than dealing with it now.

I get the whole name calling fatigue, (bit like "just get vaxxed" )
It doesn't progress any discussion (just watch our delightful pollies at work during question time) and just makes it harder for anyone to find any common ground, from which we can then identify genuine differences of opinion rather than tribalistic shouting.

My opinion?
At the moment, due to my family/life/work circumstances, I am concerned that there has been a growing trend in the rejection of medicine based on science and evidence. (not just the distrust garnered over the past 4 years)

And because of this, diseases like measles, whooping cough, influenza, RSV, chicken pox, etc now pose a much bigger danger to me and my family, regardless of what happens with Covid.

I get that for you, this is a non-issue, but please be aware you can't speak for the rest of us.

I can personally vouch for censorship during Covid.

My good friend who said early on in Covid 'I was stupid if I didn't get vaxxed', got his 2nd Pfizer and developed pericarditis within a day. Over a period of weeks he went completely 180 degrees and was livid at what the vax had done to him.

6 months or so later I went to visit him in Busselton for a mandate rally that had about 1500 people at it. My friend was one of the speakers and he eloquently told his story, no BS, just straight up what happened. He asked if I could film his speech on my phone which I did and then he uploaded it onto his YouTube channel. Within 30 minutes, the video was pulled down, it was labelled as misinformation by YouTube and he got a warning. All for telling his story.

Imagine how you would feel. He did the right thing. He got the vax. Then it injures him and society turns against him and makes out he's an anti-vax loon. It's really farked up.

Yep, They tried to keep the schools open for the Spring and Summer, but once autumn rolled around they had to change their policies.

Funny that your link doesn't mention schools staying open any later than mid 2020, I wonder why that is?
