Thought I would start the ball rolling on these RS Foils.
I've had all the GF's to date and these so far these are the best.
Pitch control, speed, manoeuvrability and pumping are all massive improvements. For reference I've gone from a NL190/160/130 quiver to a RS1000. So far the bottom end is between the 160/190, top end above the 130. Turns like a 130 but it's stability in pitch means you can really get aggressive on turns and it loves it.

Ventilation or getting the tips out is a complete non event. Coupled with the FT-S/L tails these foils are amazing. The fact you can get the tips then the whole tail out of the water during a turn, barely notice and ride away is impressive.

As for the step design, been around for year in planes as a wing fence and and cuffed leading edge, this is a amalgamation of the 2. I know it works on planes and serves a purpose, I wasn't sure how it would translate to a foil - can happily say it's works as advertised. The air from a wing tip put doesn't travel past the step, so the step can be stalled and you are still riding, the other awesome aspect is having a foil with 2 defined AoA's - non uniform stall. I've actually felt the wing stall whilst pumping, but I've been able to recover and continue as the whole foil isn't stalled. Damn awesome.
Put simply these new foils are high performance without being hard to ride, means you will go waay harder cause the confidence levels rise

Certainly noticed the improvement in turning the other day. Speed out of the turns was impressive but you could pull it back around. Very tempting

Thanks for sharing the RS froth / feedback, what's your weight? Can you prone it is mush given the thinner profile or does it need a bit of push? Also have you ridden the RS1150 and if so how does it feel compared to the 1000?

My friend has the GT1250 I had a quick go on the wing just in flat water and immediately felt very comfortable, like the step design.

I've ridden the 1000 only. No others available as yet except to the team guys.
First session was in .5ft dribble. Horrific. Guys on sups couldn't catch waves. Probably one of the best prone sessions yet. 6s wind swell tick. 12s 1.5m groundswell tick. Honestly this thing is so versatile. It has an odd ability to burn all its speed doing an epic turn yet still be able to recover and build speed really easily. Previous wings have needed to be going faster to start with.
I'll be adding a 1150 when I can for the wing DWers and days were I want to pump for miles.

i try rs' this week and it was an absolute blast!
i was planning to take a gt 1250 and a rs 1150, but after a try in rough water i 'll defenitely go for 1000 and 1300!
i come from: nl190/p180/gl240/180/80...
1150 looks wonderfull, but for an unique wing...and i felt 1000 are way far faster! So with fts tail it's quite eazy to generate some speed and continue to glide for long time...
i think rs 1300 will be like a next level pnl...so a p180 with a foil drive assist! ;)

important to note: rs wings are closer to the mast than other...like one inch closer than a p180...
fts feels like a ftxs!

My quiver is currently RS1000 and GT2200.
Little and large. I haven't worked out what wing to fill in the gap or whether I really need another.
very well behaved wings with heaps of performance on tap. Slips a tip out no worries. Using a 32 mast and long fixed tail.

Thanks for the reviews. Looks like an 1150 for me. If the RS is closer to the mast and pair it up with the FTS, that would make an extra short fuselage. The fts is shorter than the 6.5 pedestal. Been riding the gl180, 210 and nl160.

Fts is 5.5, so i think fts with pnl = short pedestal with rs wings...you just have to mouve youre mast ;)
but fts with rs wings means extra short...and its ****ing good!

I'll start another thread on the tails but I'm not sure I agree with you regarding the FT-S being 5.5. I'll explain;
Short ped 6.5 tail bolts into the front.
I put a helicoil insert into the fuse making it 35mm shorter again
The FTS is 10 mm shorter again than this. My point is that this is by far the shortest option GF has made. Regardless these tails are a massive improvement on anything available previously.

I have the 1150 and the GT1250. Both are great but really been digging on the 1250 especially In small FL surf. Don't discount the 1250 it's really good, becoming the weapon of choice.

I don't discount the gt's...i think gt 1250 are one of the best allround wing you can find on the market!
i'just say rs are faster an even more in the way i'm looking for at this time...mostly by the short fuse it makes!
the difference between short pedestal / flit tip and fts is 45mm (close to 2")
so a set with fts and rs wings means a fuse almost 3" shorter than a set with a pnl and a 6.5 short pedestal...
for me 3" make a big difference...almost more than between a short and a long pedestal...

Stock is pretty short in Australia at the moment. James Casey and Zane Westwood both have a heap of DW vids on Insta with them ripping on the 1150 and 1300.
As for the GT's I would love to try either the 1400 or the 1250. Unfortunately money only goes so far. I think lots of people will end up with a mixed RS GT quiver as they both work damn well and work for different aspects ie the rs1300 may not suit a entry level DW'er but the GT1400 certainly would.

I recall Jeremy Riggs saying the RS 1150 maintained lift down to 7 knots in one of his downwind videos... that is M200 territory... crazy!

Ended up going with the RS1000.
After riding the GL 140 (just to mess with something a similar area) I felt like the area was fine, it was just too slow to keep at my speed range(also breaching and vent).

Put my hands on it today and tilt looked great but under the tree it goes for a few weeks! (We're not even allowed to buy ourselves anything this time of year!)

Can't wait for the fat man in red velvet to give me the all clear!

Don't mind the poo hanger stance.
Shows the steps doing what they do. Air doesn't travel past the step, allowing the remainder of the wing to still be rideable. I rode out of this even though the tail also ventilated.

I have prone foiled the RS1000 twice and the RS1150 once I can confirm RichJam's comments. They surf amazing. As a surfer you learn to not push when foiling but I could push these foils hard through the turns feeling like the pitch control requires very little concentration. To me they just felt home being the most ridable foils I have surfed and yet felt very slick through the water.

I rode the 1000 first and was impressed enough to order one immediately. Pumps similar to the NL160 for me but carved much harder and controlled. I thought well the reduced wingspan was a contributing factor but the 1150 also turns hard and can be driven through the turn.

I am very excited about riding these foils when they arrive and can't wait to ride the 1000 in waves with the wing. Maybe the step design might turn out to be a big break through when we look back in a few years.

65kgs 179cm 55 years old prone and wing foiler and paying full price for my gear.

I know the 1150 is not readily available at the moment in Australia & why I'm holding back on my comments BUT my god! First wave yesterday prone foil on slop waves 3 for 1 and 34kmh. Pumps like a NL160 but easier, surfs like nothing Iv ridden and over all mind blown. My mate who's 5kg heavier was on the 1000 doing the same things. Truly next level foils.

honestly, the pre RS go foil stuff is just weak i've got my finger's crossed the RS doesn't disipoint.

Since i gave up on the kujira 1210 (durability issues) ive been on the PNL 185 and NL 160 and i feel like the PNL pumps ALMOST as good as the Kujira but barely surfs and the NL 160 surf almost as good as the kujira and barely pumps. Hoping the RS 1000 does the job.

If not i'm selliing the gofoil kit and back to the drawing board.

I've got my fingers crossed the RS is a step back to my kujira feels with gofoil durability.

I have 1150 and feel Kujira 1210 /very comparable. Guessing 1000 closer to 980. For fl waves prone RS and GT 1250 are legit. The fts lights it up.

Lots of your comments don't add up. Gofoil is criticized as the most front footed foils of all (too lifty). Maybe the home made tail is incompatible.
100 kgs on a 24.5 mast trying to pump an NL160. If my understanding is correct the small mast is much flexier and being that short wont help either. I have seen big guys pump an NL160 effectively (2 and 3 for ones) but I don't think you can expect it to pump like a higher aspect wing like the 1210. Now the 1210 is known for its glide and pump but not its speed.

Pumping a 1210 better than a PNL also suggests something is very wrong with your setup. I have seen some ripping done on a PNL by big guys but it is 105cm wide and a downwind wing so obviously it wont surf as well as 93cms wide.

RS1000 is almost exactly the same wingspan and chord as the 980
RS 1150 is almost the same dimensions as the 1210. If you were suited to the 1210 then it seems obvious.

I think at your weight it is such a balancing act going for pump because it will compromise your turning. You don't have a choice but to trade these thing off. 980 cant pump like 1210 but 1210 cant turn like 980. Maybe the NL190 with a better mast and tail would have been more comparable on the turning and the pumping to the 1210.

I think anyone would agree the kujira's were great all round foils in terms of performance.
