Yeahhhhhh, ummm, riiiiight. Not sure what that argument was or even what your point is, but....

but, it is called SARS-CoV-2 and has been since identification was confirmed and it was named.

And the 'implication' that it was/is SARS again really is is quite implied by the offical name of 'severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2'. Not sure what argument there is that is isn't.

I mean the film Jaws 2 wasn't the second in the series of James Bond movies. King Charles the third isn't the forth King to be named Joe.

The title and the name does, in many cases, kind of provide some clues as to the thing being named, FN.

For example, if you wanna go buy 2 kilos of bananas in Woolies, best to ask for 2 kilo of bananas. If you ask for directions to the nearest train station you might get something completely different from 2 kilos of bananas.

Yeah, putting D for disease in the name of a virus was pretty stupid. Maybe they figured that educating everyone that a virus can often progress to a disease in the host was too difficult so they decided to misname it and lose a bunch of credibility.

I am not sure we are on the same page, but I remember a crazy monkey on here lecturing us all about the correct name, implying that it was just SARS and it was not something to worry about.

I am happy to refer to it as 'Covid'. No one really cares what it is called as they know what is being referred to.

Taxonomic nomenclature is complicated, especially when it comes to viruses and... bananas.

It's almost like Israel's president tried to convince Pfizer to use them as the test as they had the ability to give meaningful data back to Pfizer.
