Going off on a tangent, it's pretty remarkable when you think about it. A few hundred years ago you would be lucky if you didn't die from blood poisoning, and now, you can have pretty intrusive damage and still have a pretty good chance of recovery. And its getting better all the time.

Medical science has progressed so much in the last 50 or 60 years, it makes you wonder how much better its going to get.

I was talking to someone about surgery I had about 10 years ago. They sliced me open to do the repairs, but now they do the same procedure with key-hole surgery. I have also had both shoulders repaired using key-hole procedures, and its so impressive that you can do something like that and have pretty good recovery times.

Its fine for PM33 to have his beliefs, but when the rubber hits the road, the medics treating all of us know their stuff. Mostly.

Just as a tangent to this, to show you the reality, when you had your accident people were happy to contribute for something that we all could have experienced. You made some comment at the time about feeling unsure about the donations, but clearly there is no need to worry about that, we would all expect you to need the money and to not feel any obligation at all.
