this might be the best wing dinging i've ever seen

Johnny Heineken killing it under the Golden Gate Bridge on a Mike's Lab race foil and board... there's also a ~3kt current running against the wind on this day which partially explains the slingshotting upwind effect

any way to embed FB vid?

the footwork is amazing. i thought i was getting pretty decent at dinging until i saw this video. apparently I'm still using training wheels. i've very strongly biased regular foot, so i've been reluctant to switch my feet after jibing, but now realize i need to be better well rounded and just suck it up and fall in a lot to learn that **** and quit being a baby

Here's a video of the Sling Shot Outwit being used as a wing board. Looks like the rider might have added some front foot strap inserts.

The Gong team enjoying a quick mini-trip to an offshore mini-island close to work.

Side note: Patrice tells me that all the team is on L Pro foil wings, only him at 100kg is using the XL pro. He says that they prefer always using the same size foil wing, as it depends on the board speed: by using wing sail sizes adapted to the wind speed the board speed stay constant for the kind of "winging" done. So they change foil wings based on what they want to do: waves, freestyle, long reaches... rather than the wind strength.

Great info as always, My takeaway is that it's better to switch to a bigger foil for lighter winds than a bigger wind wing (over 5m.)
Rob Whittall said the same in a recent vid , considering a larger foil is probably slightly cheaper than a wing seems the way to go ,for riding waves anyhow.

A low wind session: 6 to 8 knots at the windmeter. Of course you need a good amount of foil experience to tackle these low winds.

Note: in the YouTube description, MiLF means "Made in La France", for a prototype shaped and glassed in the French headquarters. Patrice has always liked risque' references... like the spermatozoid logo :-) (or the "Couine Marie", the Perv, the Greedy, ...).
