Alysum said..Larry Foiler clearly looks fast on the Axis black series.

Should see him on his new fluro orange Smik wing
Speed wise no different than the Armstrong 1050 and 1250 with Andy Mac or Drew piloting them. Richjam is clearly fastest on his GoFoil NL wings. Neither Drew or Richjam are in the vid for comparason.

Fun super light wave session at North Palmy today. Wind was super light, but I rigged with plenty of grunt.

Riding the Naish Hover 125 with 2140HA/310HA/75cm and the WinG-Surfer 6.0m

Battery died well before the wind kind of came in unfortunately.

enjoy,

Ride safe,

JB

You use a single offset front strap but get your foot into it on both tacks?

That video was pretty magic. We have conditions a bit like that locally (river mouth bar break with frequent 10-14kt side shore) and I dream of being able to wing it one day.

Thanks DJ, I started foiling out of them just after my battery died, pretty cool way to end a wave. Also did a few 360's with the wing drag into a waves link up. GoPro needs more battery life but I did ride for a reasonably long time - twas lots of fun.

This was my first session. Super light wind, kites not going upwind for most of it.

And my second session. The wind actually died and everyone came, so I decided to go out and caught some epic solo time as it kicked back in.

so much fun.

ride safe,

JB

Here's a short look at Slingshot's new Dart wing in action (Toronto, Ontario Canada in the background -- and yes, it's cold!)

Super skilled kid, but he needs to watch where he is jumping! You can see in the vid folks falling because he lands near them. The harbor is not the place to do tricks, go to Kanaha and jump with the others.

The landing with the two kids by the windsurf board looks a pretty close but I can?t see anyone falling because of him. Where would that be?

I saw the longer vid on youtube but in this one, at 1;00 he lands hear a beginner who has fallen in the water, at 1:32 the guy next to him falls. BTW the boys on the windsurf gear are about 3-4M from shore, they are in the walk of shame line. This kid will often jump towards the line of people in that water walking their gear. Even in this short vid, he lands near the windsurf boys twice.

My point is that if he wants to do stunts, he needs to goto the spot where the more skilled riders are also doing jumps and flips, not at the beginner spot where most folks are just trying to sail upwind.

He was quite responsible, no issues with his tricks at all. Great vid wish I could move my feet around and stay on foil like he did.

Yep looked ok to me.

Cameras with telephoto lenses or zoomed in can make things appear a lot closer than they are as well.

Let's hope the start of an epic winter NW'er season at Bus Stop.
Only 15 knots today - just enough to stir up some fun bumps

In terms of observable fun factor the windfoiler was miles ahead of everybody else. Faster, better carving, more flow. No silly pumping required. If I wasn't fully stocked with toys it would be tempting to try it out.

BTW. The video showed most of my toys. I own a J Shapes foil and board (or two), a white One SUP foil, and my PPC 2.8 arrived the other day.

Fortunately I was pretty crap on a windsurfer, so I will save my money for more wing gear.

Back 25 yrs ago I managed a back roll or two whilst polling at Pippie beach. Then some of the crew started zooming past on kites. Now it's wingfoil fever.
How things evolve.

In conditions like that the windfoilers are having more fun than the wingers.
