I have the SF930, HA850 and SF680, mainly C600 but have C700 too. I think you will used to the C600 pretty quickly, I rarely use the C700 now.

SF930 + S215 -> great fun, pumping beast but slow when winging (I ride a lot of windswell)
SF930 + S208 -> same as above, slightly faster but solid all rounder.
SF930 + S178 -> looser on top turns, maybe lose a little low end when pumping, prefer the 208 to be honest for the all round.

HA850 + S208 -> great combo for windswell as the 208 will help dig ya out, the HA drops out so much earlier than the SF930
HA850 + S178 -> needs to be windy and be powered up as average speed needs to stay high - fun when you used to it but a mindset change from the SF930

SF680 + S208 -> tried it once, felt draggy and just looked too big
SF680 + S178 -> sweet spot, stab handles the speed and front wing needs speed and is a lot easier to pump than the HA.

I'm 105kg has Gong Cruzader Point 135l downwind board a MA2400v2 and a MA1800v2 plus S210 and S270. Would the P2050 would work these stabilizers?
Once up on foil I want to use board pumping to keep me going. I want to do straight lines rather than making a lot of turns. I'm more interested in the pump "aerobics".

What is your opinion on MAv2 2400? Is it the Full Carbon or the Glass Carbon? I also have A crusader DW 6.6XL (127l) board and want to gain some lower wind than the 10 knots i have with my 1450HA (2023) (92 kgs) and also help my wife learn (62kgs) as HA's are not the best option. Thanks in advance!

I came from a similar size Slingshot Hoverglide. Compared to this getting up and even pumping is much better. But I experience what has been described I'm really stalling quickly when the wind is low or lulls. Pumping can make it survive for some seconds only but my technique is not good either. So I hope on the SF1230. I got the prime version made of glassfiber. If wind higher around 15 I not use it anymore but my 1800v2. For higher wind I looking for something smaller now. Especially at 25knot or higher drag becomes nasty

S178 isn't. My other one is S210 and is very quiet.
Funny thing is that the MA850v2 is also loud, but different tone than the S178 and at different AoA.
If you're that good, you can play a simple melody with that setup

my S210 is very quiet also. That's why i prefer it over the s208. I like foiling for the smooth quiet experience, i hate those humming noices. My s208 is horrible. I actually like the S210 with the MA850v2. It increases its stall speed but still is fast and turns nice. With the S208 i'm only a little faster, thats it, but they can hear me 2KM out of the beach

so how does the speed on the SF680 + S178 compare to the HA850 + S178? are you able to keep up with swell?
have you tested other brands or are you riding only North?

I'd love to try other brands but I moved to North from Gong maybe 18 months ago and pretty happy with the kit.

Both those combos keep me on big windswell, without issue, bigger the better (and we get some solid conditions on the west coast of Ireland). The HA glides on smaller swell too but the SF680 needs some energy to shine. Top end speed might be similar for both but the SF feels like it accelerates quicker, and its way more fun to throw around, carve, etc. The HA850 is wide enough to still have that locked in feeling. Looking forward to the winter and hard to see me using the SF930 much anymore. Might sell it on.

Has anyone fitted a North Sonar foil on a Starboard Air Foil (inflatable wing board?) If so how did that go with the North M8 bolts? Any additional hardware needed?

In two sessions you have that dialed in. Some find the SF a bit nervous at first. It's just more in touch with the underwater dynamics. Better to get a bit out of the comfort zone than stay in it too much

if you want high wind control with a big hand wing you want less speed, not more. Something from the MA range that will controll speed will help more than an HA that will tend to accelerate, create more apparent wind, and overpower you sooner. I would say that SF 1230 should be your Light wind wing and maybe a MA 850 for high wind. For me anything in the SF range is going to be a light wind wing - except the 680 which i'd call a medium wind wing. The smaller ones are just going to be faster...which means more speed...which means more power...they're just going to be more work to get onto foil. Anything smaller than the 1230 is going to generate speed agressively and misbehave with too much speed. I'd say the 1230 is a MA and the smaller sizes are HAs and the 680 is getting into the HA range

I'd call anything in the HA range over 850 a "light wind" wing. I wouldn't want to be on them, with a 5M, in anything over 20. If you throw power at it, its going to accelerate to the point that it gets hard to handle and its no fun. Honestly i don't get why people like winging HAs. I hate it. Too much power and speed.

Something thats a MA is going to eat up power more. You can really throw power at it and it will eat it up and not get going too fast, you hit a wall in terms of speed before it starts to misbehave.(full disclosure - ive never ridden these MAs i just know how MA wings behave). I feel like the MA 1050 would be a solid choice.

Lucky you! If anyone has managed to sand the MA850v2 and S178, and got rid of the whistling, pls share how you did it!Yesterday I tried just a bit with 1500 grit at ~45deg, botton side of MA850 TE on top side of S178 TE - with no effect at all. Then I tested shortly a Sabfoil Razor 980 - significantly louder and with a very stable tone pitch, regardless of the AoA (did a few pumps).

I'm looking to progress to my next foil setup. I'm 82kg and currently on a 115l board and 1700 low aspect NSP front wing. I'm starting to get my gybes down and thinking it might be nice to get a setup that is a little lighter with more glide.

From reading the comments I think I'm down to either:
- MAv2: either 1050 or 1200
- SF: either 1030 or 1230

Any suggestions on MAv2 vs SF and which size would be suggested to help with progression while minimizing frustration!?

Riding mostly medium to stronger winds with the occasional lighter days, and a mix of flattish and 2-3ft wind swell.

Hoping to progress to the point of enjoying more of the wind swell.

Appreciate any advice!

Hmm.. if you're just starting to nail the gybes then the MAv2 1200 would offer a nice next long stage of progression. Not many early-intermediates like the SF because it can feel a bit nervous. The MAv2 is more on rails and plenty of speed, yet good low end. Not sure which stab goes best with it but the latest v4 sonar guide can provide guidance. The 700 fuse is nice.

Awesome, thanks so much MProject04! That's the advice I was after. The setup I'm looking at comes with a CF85 mast, 700 fuse and S270 stab - looks like that's in line with the sonar guide.
