That is cool. The DW foils do sound interesting. I should have my P2050 in the next day or two, I will try it with the 215 and let you know how it goes. With all this talk I am considering putting the 215 back on with my sf1230 and see if I can slow down and ride more of the lake chop without constantly overrunning it. It has been a while since I used it instead of the 208.

apologies for the inconvenience this has caused. The demand superseded supply for some of the parts, unfortunately.
AF board adapter and A700 are currently in transit from the factory and should be shortly in stock again in the UK.
Please check with your local North retailer on the exact availability date.
Alternatively, you will find some shops outside the UK that will have stock of the AF board adapter.

So I have the same set of stabilisers: 208, 215 and 270. I asked Uli which to take for the DW1400 (while the s192 and s142 not available) His reponse was s215 (short term).

I think because that aligns best with the low stall speed of the DW1400. Low stall speed front wing .. low stall speed stab. Could apply to the P wing too.

But perhaps best that Uli can shed more light on this here?

I took out the DW1100 today w the 215 stab in some 08-12 G13 kt afternoon seabreeze, knee to chop wind wave. Agreed!!! The DW's come up quick! With the 215, the pump was very easy. As expected, where the foil really shines is in the GLIDE. Basically it's an HA w some SF hybrid :)
It's a keeper for DW runs and light wind days. I've tried it w the 208 and 178 and it was fast, but if you want to slow it down and have an effortless pump, the 215 works great. I'll def buy the DW stab when it's available.

I forgot to mention I've been using the 80 HM mast. It's stiff and it's still light. You definitely feel an effortless bump in glide and speed, especially when you ride higher. It's actually taken me a few sessions to get used to the stiffer mast. I'd grown used to the spring when loading up on my 72 Carbon mast for jumps. I know they advertise that the bigger HM is better at going upwind but I've had no real-world loss on my angle of attack.

Did you see the hydrofoil academy video where he mentions it's in fact a UHM mast (and it has a UHM label too if you look closely) Very confusing!

It's been the envy of the other Foilers on the beach. It's a work of art. Btw, I didn't realize it till I read it on the foil but my DW 1100 is HM's.

Swapping from V1 to V2. Already have the 850v2.

Just sold my old MA1200, which I used lately for both winging and (very slow) kitefoiling, both with C600+S210.

The MA850V2/S178 arrived yesterday and I'm surely covered for kitefoiling. But the bigger MA-V2 are sold out in Europe and until back in stock in about 3 weeks, I can get a very cheap MA1350. Is it worth it?

Looking at the specs the MA1200V2 should have same or better performance than the MA1350. Anyone has the thicknesses?
MA1350 - Span 830 - AR 5.2
MA1200V2 - Span 875 - AR 6.4

I had the opportunity to fly the MA1200V2 vs. MA1350 in 3 sessions.
With
S178/S208
93l midlegth board at 93kg bw
7m wing
9-16knt

for me no big difference in lowend and speed
1200 better glide
1350 more agility

So for me no reason to chance from the old 1350 to the 1200V2, because I was looking for better lowend in light wind.
Maybe I have to try the SF1230?!

With stabile 12+ knt I will ride the MA1050V2, which is my most used frontwing right now.

Today i finally had the chance to try the new DW1400 with a wing. Based on the comments from Uli and MProject04 i expected poor turning ability but honestly it is not that bad. it is not as nimble as my SF930 but after 10 minutes i didn't have problem freeriding it. I even landed couple of jibes on foil and plenty off foil. I was using 215 stab still waiting on the new DW stab.

Basically i wanted an ultra light wind wing and i think this is it. Love my SF930 and its low end but i think 1230 would not make a great difference. I was even considering HA1400 but it would probably have problem with stall speed.

What i found especially weird is even in very low wind when i pumped 2-3 times but didn't take of the foil still gains speed which didnt drop imediately so after 2-3 seconds when i catch my breath i pump just once or twice and im up. It seems that it can carry momentum for quite long time. It was not just one case i had like 10 moments like this. Newer had this happening before with any other foil. When i pump i ether mange to get on foil or not and it is game over, if my pumps are not constant

Anyway what im trying to say is dont be afraid to use this foil for winging. Im 70kg intermediate rider at best with my 100l DW board and if i manage to ride it so can you...

Looking to get some advice on an additional front wing here.

I'm currently using the 1200MAv2 with the s210 and really liking it. I am able to get it flying in 18kts with a 4.2m and in 12-14kts with a 6.0m wing. I'm 88kg and 184cm and on a North seek 88l for reference.

I am able to tack and jibe consistently and can do a couple of jibe variations(duck, racing and Heineken). Also starting to get into jumping and have been in the waves twice so far. I'm guessing it would be best to stay with the MA range.

What size would be good below the 1200? Is the gap with the 1050 sufficient or would the 850 be a better fit? Or would something like the SF930 be a better fit as I'm not necessarily looking for more speed?

I use the MA1050v2 for light wind and the ma850v2 for strong(er) wind. I'm 82 kilos. The ma 1050 is really a good allround frontwing and should work very well for you. I sold my 1200 as I found it too big.

My .02 cents, I would delve into the SF series if you plan to surf (either wind swell bumps or small surf), as you will get slightly more glide and pumpability otherwise would stick with the MA range for agility and speed range. If you have windy conditions and/or are powered up regularly would go the smaller size, will take a few sessions to get used to but the additional speed will have a smile on your face.

Asking the question again unfortunately.. I still have whistling noise coming from the trailing edge of my S208. I've been sanding it multiple times now already using good advice how to sand it. (it must be a S206 in the meanwhile with all the sanding done). But no luck. With all the other gear its dead silence, so it is frustrating. How are your S208 behaving? I'm thinking of just buying a new one....

At 78kg, mostly flat water, light and gusty wind - the MA1200 was good, but didn?t cover the low end well. I was advised against the MA1500v2, as it aruably brings very little low end compared to the MA1200v2 (which I am planning to get anyway once available).My question - SF930 or SF1080 as a quick fix for the lightwind sessions? I got MA850v2/S178 and like it a lot, but haven?t had a chance to test it winging. I am not keen on exploring the HA range yet. Cheers!

How low do you want to go? Both come up incredibly early, but the 1080 obviously comes up sooner and the stall speed is ridiculously low. But you are giving up speed. Also, I tell people, if you're not making a jibe or tack on either one of those foils, it's the player not the foil. Based on what you're looking for (low end) I'd get the 1080SF.
