Currently using 925 for surfing. My dad uses the 880, and I can see the difference. Was thinking of maybe buying another 880 or maybe the 780. I weigh 69kg, and really dont know if it's best for me to have the 880 or 780. Any tips? Does the 880 has that much of a difference in pumping compared to 780? Some help plsss
Did you ever kite in the past. Remember how the 9m was the end of the smaller kite designs and the 10m was the start of the bigger kite design? That's a good analogy for the 780/880.
The 880 has more accessible easy to use pump for sure - but with the right tail, good technique and cadence then the 780 is nearly just as good. Also the 780 rolls significantly better than the 880 given the only one size differences. Again refer above to my kite analogy.
At your weight I'd even suggest the 680 to be honest. But that depends on your skill level and what surf you mainly are in.
A safe bet is the 780. I'm only 75kg and ride the 880 but if i had the coin i'd be on the 780 (for wing, prone and paddle). It does surf and roll a lot better. The 880 is great for DW winging if you want to get across and over bumps.
780 i'd say - but at your weight you can easily use the 680. So yeh 780 and get yourself a 140 dart tail. You'll be ripping balls real soon. Then maybe add a 180 tail for smaller days. I use the 880 but change tails for fine tuning and what discipline i'm doing. They are very important.
