Despite Piros' reports there's actually no official release date for the 770R, 860R or 1130S just yet. It is soon but certainly not in the next few days.

Regarding the 85cm mast, some do seem to be a tighter fit and it is an easy fix that is getting sorted on our end. We suggest using a bit of candle wax to allow it to slip on and off easily, if this does not work please get your local Code Foils retailer to check it out. Regardless you will still need to tighten it properly and if you are not sure what properly means check this video out ?si=gDdaT4zFMgoKmLIw

I've been trying the 860R for the last 3 days, from open ocean conditions to small/weak bay run. This 860R with the right tail can do everything. I'm really amazed how good and easy it is for a 860cm2 at 13 AR.

Obvioulsly the glide is insane but the speed range is impressive and easy to control.

Spot on, I did a 3.41 min/km in a bay run yesterday with 860 R and 150 tail med fuse. It was against the tide. Damm it was fun tho! I was having a ball, and it carves well for its wingspan.

I'm not sure what its top speed is capable of, James would probably know, I think 2.10 min/km speeds or even faster. But most of all its actually a really user friendly foil. I wouldn't let the size of it put you off too, it foils like a bigger wing then the cm2 suggests.

I used a 175 tail for super light conditions and 158 on medium conditions, I haven't tried the 150 yet but this is what I will use in bigger conditions for sure.

I've spoken to James , Mark & Ben re this . Some of the 85 mast just have some extra clear coat on it making them tighter and it will wear off like mine and Hilly's has or just rub a little candle wax on it or give it a slight rub with wet n dry.

I use a ratchet tool to do up mine as the tiny tool that comes with the gear is hopeless. But it's so tight when I do mine up now I don't want to tighten even further for fear of stripping the mast inserts and voiding my warranty.

Can Code give a torque setting to tighten too?

There must be a better way to solve this as the 75cm mast doesn't do this.

To me, this would infer there's a problem with the 85cm masts as they don't seat as well as the 75cm mast, and it's not just me having this problem.

Yep I spent 15 minutes with 1200 wet and dry sandpaper and used callipers to compare to my 75cm mast foot about where to sand etc and working out where it was jamming. I had used mine many times and it wasn't wearing off like you suggest, but the good news is the problem now solved.

Still one of the best foil setups I've used and for where I am in my foiling journey.

Had some small clean days and felt the nose of the board was a bit dippy in turns. Ultimately I need a board with mast tracks further forward. But as an interim measure I revisited my Armstrong fix and put a washer under the front of the 158 tail. Marked improvement in balance with the front foot pressure increased. 980 foil with 100kg on it in tiny beach break.

Code looks like a well designed system but so far Go Foil is the only thing that has held up for me in the long term. Unfortunately it's hard to go back to a lower performance system

Really liked GoFoil. Still do. All setups have issues and GoFoil had a few. Wobbly connection drove me insane. Wack it on with a hammer and tighten it up but it was always loose at the end of a session

Code is better as it does not work loose. GoFoil turns on waves really well but Code glide is insane. Always going to be a compromise however I have not used the 720 yet which may address that. Very happy with the change.

I had this exact conversation with Ben from Code this morning , I'm (90kg) currently running the 1130 & 980 with the 150 & 158 tails. I need a smaller wing for the larger days and I'm thinking the 850 will still be too big so now considering the 720s . I'll be at Merimbula this week and try them both out there. I recommend both tails especially if you are only getting the 720s , the 158 definitely gives more pump range. Physically when you look at the 2 tails together there is not a massive difference. The shots below are on the were on the FD Max , 980 & 150 tail , 75 mast , really nice combo but on the larger sets it was on its limit.

720/980 combo would cover you for 1 to 6 or try the 850 with different tails and fuses. Easier just having two full setups imho.

Great minds think alike Rob!Was Ben able to give you an idea of the range he expects the 720s to work in? Yeah I like the idea of changing my front wing less and adjusting to conditions with stabs more.Also it's such a basic question I know but does each part come included with mounting hardware?I'd be purchasing without a demo which isn't always smart but there's a few guys in that know their stuff and it seems to be the goods. My current setup is very nice I just think Code might handle aussie conditions a little better.Looking good out there on the new setup!

720/980 combo would cover you for 1 to 6 or try the 850 with different tails and fuses. Easier just having two full setups imho.

hey Hilly thanks mate! It's like a little foil drive reunion over hereYep if I went two I think I'd gap them like that as well with the 720/980. Unfortunately without a demo I think I'm only willing to risk starting out with one wing first though which would be the 720s, I've found I like the feel of a longer fuse with a smaller wing on my current setup, I muck around with shims so much that being limited on the code might be a good thing

Lots of wind lately in NW of France, the 860R is definetly a game changer for me, now I can go on tricky/wild conditions with confidence.

So this has happened... Now just trying to decide on which front to compliment the 720s

These are the times I think I'd most likely use a bigger wing @70kg
0-2ft prone surf days
Learning to wing
Botany Bay "downwinders" on a 5'5x17 @55L prone with FD unlikely to do open ocean yet purely because of the logistics of shuttle

Leading contender 980s wild card 770r (but unsure how much turning I give up for that pump and glide

I would probably choose the 850s at your weight, I find the difference between the 720s and 850s is pretty big, especially in pump. If you were going to dw in the ocean I'd definitely say get a 770R tho!

Has anyone tested the 175AR tail yet?

I currently only have the 150AR but interested in extending the low end of my 720s.

The 175 seems HUGE but this line from the website seems to suggest it might pair with the 720s.

Thats from the code website for the 188R, so they are pairing that with the 720s but saying the step down to 175AR rolls better.

So my question remains currently own a 150AR with that quote above in mind I wonder which would be the better step up in size with the 720s to add low end the 158AR or the 175AR
