Well,finally got the Sailrite fired up, only bought it about 12-months ago!
i hade some clear panels to replace in my Bimini. Not the easiest job to start on. The original cracked up clears we're sewed in first then a zip and flap to block the UV below was sewn over afterward. Quite an elaborate design, and one makes it hard to replace clear.
so I just trimmed the old clear to the back to the hole opening, this left about 25mm of doubled over section of Sunbrella and old clear to sew through, whilst keeping clearance from the zip below.
that basting tape is brilliant, for amateurs like me!
after working out how to load up the machine with some black V92 thread, hardest part of the process! The little Sailrite chomped through the multiple layers with ease. 2 layers of clear, two of Sunbrella. I'm keen to knock up a cockpit cover next.
