Thanks to you and your comment I bought 3.6 and 5.2. I?m 90kg. Yesterday I had my first ride with 5.2 at a German gusty lake. Wind 5-6kn, with some gust up to 12kn. I didn?t believe that I can foil, but just tried. Unbelievable, it pumps so well, that I could foil. I had a great day. Even the speed with my foil was 5km/h fast than normal. 24km/h with slingshot Frontwing I99 on an Armstrong 72mast, 50 fuse, 0 shim and 232 rearwing.

Is this wing is still relevant? What any updates on condition after multiple sessions? Seems like the price now is good, I have 8m v3 cwc as main wing in Florida, Miami and thinking about to add something above 16 knots. Something like 4.7

If the price has dropped go for them. Still flogging the piss out of my wings. Lucky me, shift work in windy Gero. I'm able to get out in the water far more often than the normal dude.

The x ply canopy still has the same shape but is looking old. I bought some clear mylar sail tape for canopy repairs. The repairs are virtually invisible. Had a big bladder blow out after a mauling in a wave. That was an expensive repair, needed a new bladder. Made my self one of those little sea anchors. Seems like a good idea to me.

Anyways the wings are old and well used but still in fair condition. Should get another season out of them.

The X wings I owned still had canopy tension and great performance even after a year of solid use. The only two drawbacks are weight and they have their own "method" required to pump to foil. One you figure that out they have amazing low end and top speed.

Digging up an old topic. How are the wings holding out?
They are on offer in UK, but i remember reading they had issues with seams pulling apart. how do they handle, I'm not keen on the really flat wings, like a little bit of body around the front handle. thanks for any info.

Still have my 3.6m and 5.3m. They still work very well with no trailing edge cupping/brakes.
I have clear mylar tape to fix up little rips etc. Only construction issue was handle sewing's. I have hand sewn the handles more secure with braided fishing line. Don't want to sound like a knob but I'm 105kg and wing a lot more than most people. Will definitely get another windy season with these two wings.
Not sure how swx goes performance wise in comparison to other wings? Obviously no marketing manager handling that department.
I recon I'll wait until some other wings come out in the future, with the same sort of Xply material before I worry about updating hand wings.

3.6 in Uk ?349, seems too good not to buy one.

The durability of these wings I'd great. My 4.7 is just shy of 2 years old and still going strong. The canopy isn't as transparent as it once was and the red fold stripe is starting to fade.
I picked up a 3.6 demo run out earlier this year as well.
I hope to get another 2-3 years out of these wings. Well and truly enough time to sit out several rounds of latest and greatest hype.
The sale prices of these make it well and truly worth it imo.

3-4 years in total sounds plenty, so you can still sell it after 2 years in decent shape. How many sessions do you do roughly per year and in what winds do you use the 4.7?

I don't wing as much as I used. According to waterspeed I've done about 17hrs on the 4.7 this year so far.
I've used in winds from around 10 to 20+ kts. I prefer to use it in approx 10-15kt range as it can be a brutal ride once it starts to get overpowered in gusty conditions.
A quick summary of what I've found with it-
It generates great power
Very front hand dominant power delivery
Front handed pump needed
My favourite wing handles I've used so far.
It's a physical ride. The more effort you put into the wing, the more it gives back. (A harness may help?)
Tacks nicely
Flags out ok
No trailing edge fluttering ever

I am interested... In what condition u can use the 5.3 and 3.6? I am looking forward to buy an 4.2 for stronger wind and nearly got 100 (95kg). Stronger means above 20 knots. How much power got this wing compared to normal ones?
