How do these boards compare to let's say Fanatic skywing shapes? What are the pros and cons of the new FG boards? For those who have the new board, what would have been nice to have? What hat do you like but more importantly what don't you like? Can we have a real world review plzzz? Happy dinging!!!
Fanatic sky wings are pretty heavy and have the mast tracks at the far rear of the board. This is OK with some foils, such as Fanatic (I'm guessing) and Takuma kunitary or other wings with a lot of lift. When on the water, the extra volume on the nose will require a more front footed balance to keep the tail from sinking. In the air, more swing weight on the nose
FG boards obviously have the tracks further forward and have longer tracks. This wouldn't work with takuma kujira for example. Works great with lift and Armstrong. Just watch vids and any foil where the rider has their back foot near the rear of the mast trailing edge should work fine. If their foot is three inches in front of the mast leading edge, forget about it.
Cons on the FG board:
- Price
- white finish attracts dirt
- scared to ding it (no problems so far)
- causes even more frothing
- with an extreme offset stance, you might run out of real estate on the deck pad
- will automatically make you want to boost
Pros
- light, balanced, comfortable, agile, quick on foil, thru handle, sick bag, balanced stance when on water and when flying (well distributed load on legs), bounces off water on touchdowns.
