I thought I'd add a couple datapoints to the discussion of chopping the HA1325. First off,
I did not chop this foil, I bought it already cut down. Whoever cut it down went pretty extreme, the span is now 94 cm compared to 116.4 cm new. So they cut off a total of 22.4 cm or 8.8"! I'm sure Armie, Pete Burling and Jimmy Spithill would be shaking their heads at us hacks taking grinders to their highly designed foils but hey, experimentation leads to innovation. Did I mention that I did not chop this?
I took some measurements and did a little math and I figure it is now about 1150 cm2, with an AR of about 7.7. I have not yet winged with it yet but have one session of wakefoiling and was quite impressed with how loose it is and how well it pumped and turned. I have never used a stock HA1325 so can't compare to a new one, but I ride a clipped HA925 (damaged a tip so had no choice but to grind off ~2 cm each end) and it seemed equally as loose. Here are a couple pics compared to the HS1250 and my custom HA910. I'll report back when I've had a chance to wing on it - I think it will rip.
