It'll be a Rowes Bay Fox infestation! They're just such good boards. I've had a sail of the 140 in light wind and it was amazing.
Hey Grich62 and Snokel692, , how are you guys going up there in Townsville? Hope you're safe. I just wish the bloody rain would stop!
I have two sons and a daughter who live there, they're safe and well currently but it's been a stressful last few days.
Thinking of you guys.
Thanks! Yes it's pretty bloody soggy and it's a bit scary tonight. Good breeze but no thought of sailing for a while!!!
Glad your family here are safe.
Post floods...well the sun is finally out. The sea looks like a mixture of mud, logs and I suspect the odd crocodile. Wind is good today but there is waaaay too much to get done on land before thinking about sailing. The river certainly made a mess here as did 2m of rain in general.
I don't think Grich will be able to sail the river for a while- it still looks like rapids at the sailing launch spot. Then again once it settles there will be no weed to catch fins.
The town will bounce back eventually, the water will clear and it'll be sailing time again. Been an interesting week.
Good to hear things are gradually getting back to normal!
We only had about 150mm here in East Mackay but they had a few mm short of a metre up at Eungella and in the valley that feeds the Pioneer River. Consequently, there is a bit of debris at our local which is near the mouth of the river.
sorry orange whip for late post,i was stuck in flood and when i got back my computer had died ,we only got rain through the roof no flooding in the house,i can not sail as i have a complete tear of the subscapulas in my shoulder so i am out for some time
Good to hear you came through the floods pretty much unscathed. Bugger about your shoulder, how did you manage that? I assume it wasn't sailing?

no it was sailing ,heavy winds and waves,i fell forward on a gybe and caught the board with my shoulder, had to swim in one armed.
surgeon has said no more sailing

Geez mate, hope they turn out to be wrong. All the best with your recovery.
Anyone up this way sailed Brisk Bay? Heading there for a Buck's weekend in a couple of months. Fishing and crabbing is reportedly good. Worth taking some sailing gear? Croc population?

No, but satellite map looks promising. Any Bowen locals been out there?
Some nice wind in Mackay today, consistent 20 knot south easterly. Total count of 3 of us out off Illawong. Steve on his 105 Allride and 5.8 Ezzy, Karen on her nice 85 JP FSW and 5.5 Areotech and me on a 94 Kode and 5.2 Hellcat. Top day, magic weather, forecast the same for the next 3 days, gotta love it. Should be well and truly rooted for work on Tuesday
Big turnout last weekend at the local, both Sat and Sun, nice wind, 20-25. Not much wind forecast for this weekend and the tide times are pretty crap. Will still be having a look, dust off the big gear and give it a run hopefully.
Dam! Been trying to dry out my old 94 Kode so I can throw some glue under the foot pads, but just looked at the forecast for a late sail Friday and Sat, may have to postpone

Mate, You can release that guilt, it's all due to global warming..........apparently.
Anyone up near Bowen have some old/cheap gear they want to part with. 90-100L board 5.5, 6.0m ish sails and bits and bobs. Up here for a bit and wouldn't mind throwing together a cheap rig. And a harness.

pm you twice check out last pm for correct number
"No wind this weekend" I mistakenly said to the other half over dinner, so guess who's doing a garden makeover tomorrow
Back on the water at Geoffrey Bay (sort-of-properly) after far too long! Wind was semi-decent, bit of swell out the back and lovely clear water on the inside. Aaah..NQ winter.
^ Nice one. How much wind? Board? Sail?
10-12 knots with a few gusts. Trusty Naish Titan 120 with 7.8 Noa - could have gone bigger but good setup for getting feel for back on the water. The Titan is great in its ability to dredge nicely in the lulls then plane well. It's got a lovely skatey feeling in the chop. Just so nice to be back on a short board on blue water. Some big turtles and eagle rays to keep me company.
