Howdy bowsa
The previous shots were on a SE, NE is port tack at Queens. NNE=dead side-shore with best jumping is over 20knts on the low to mid-tide & the NE trades/thermals in redcliffe can be some of the strongest on the coast. It will break all over the shop as the tide changes & there are many reefs+sand banks so don't worry about tide too much. Breaking waves will mainly depend more on how much wind is kick'd up on the bay, the harder it blows the bigger the swell, 1 to 2.5m approx.
Wed forecast looks like another top shelf experience on the way for those who can get out mid-week

Just keeps blowing, 5.0-4.0's getting a pretty good work out over the last few weeks and current forecast has not a single red arrow in sight. Gotta be pretty happy

Another cracker late arvo sail. Didn't hit the water until 6pm. Is this climate change in action. Since when did 4.7 become the standard sail size in SE Qld?

Not that it looks like much wind but a bunch of the Queens Beach sailors of the 80s and 90s will be gathering on sunday and Monday at Scarborough Beach. Be great for the New Guard to meet the Old Guard of Queens!!

I think it's logistics/ room for families...I'm sure everyone will sail to Queens straight away and relaunch there. After all Queens is the true home of Redcliffe windsurfing.

Good to meet you and some of the other sailors, not good with remembering names though.
Had a sail on an old tyronsea which I have been teaching my kids on, I should have left it at home.

Out again today. A tiny bit more reasonable. Overpowered on the 4.5 but some fun was had.

Much more courageous crew after a beer sports drink! Just what was needed to deal with those huge waves.

Margate is not completely off the radar. I caught the tail end of OMA yesterday after work at Margate. 5.3m on an 85L wave board. Yep it is a great spot and I was the only one out there.

The reef next to the navigation buoys out from the boat ramp has a collection of fins, a few are mine including attached fin box. Low tide with a big blow would have that reef get exposed in the wave troughs.

Its also the place where I snapped my 3rd and 4th metacarpals about 12 years ago (hand bones) after landing a massive jump nose first in similar wind to what we just had.
