Finally, yesterday, some actual strong wind requiring a small sail.

Fun swells yesterday Dan, but the GoPro doesn't do them justice. I took some big drops on the wing.

Great to see more wind foils out at Queens, the more the merrier. And how good is Dr Gas doing on his wing board, way to go Andrew.

Cold, wet and very quiet at Queens Beach on Sunday.
Heaps of jellyfish out wide.

had a nice northerly on the GC too. I think the seaway wind meter is either broken or fixed depending how you look at it. now it gives much lower reading for the same amount of wind. Do you find the Redcliff one has changed?

Redcliffe BOM over reads by about 4 knots, has for years. But only in a N to SE, it is in a wind shadow with other directions.

How much does the Seaway meter under read by? Or do you reckon it's reading the true wind speed now?

I'd say from N to E to S, it's probably reading pretty close to a typical hand held meter on the beach. I'm not sure about westerlies.

Like Redcliff, it used to overcook the readings by about 20%

We were once standing beneath the double island point meter, in almost no wind whatsoever, and it was reading 15knots on the bom. I wouldn't trust that one for anything :)

I will be interested to see how we go with jellyfish this year. We haven't had any for a few years now, but there were plenty out there yesterday.

Four days ago they were thick, blew in on those 2 good NE days. But gone now, saw bugger all the last couple of days.

And with the southerlies blowing this week they shouldn't come back. A good week to take off
