Waves here are poo man, just admit it

some smoking waves at contacio this am
sadly I wasnt on any of them
Bit unruly, backwash but good size

no banks working between scabs and trigg that i could see
effectivley no one out at all in that stretch
swell a little big thru there closing out, with good backwash to add to teh fun

A few drainers around the beachies this morning!

Yep some solid waves on the metro beaches this morning. A couple of good banks where I was, just depends if you wanted to sit with the pack to scratch for a good one. Opted to share a bank a bit further away with some friendly euros.

Managed a few good ones, took a few wipeouts and scrambled over a few bombs. Had best bacon burger on the coast with a coffee then headed off to work!

One particular rip bank was on fire today between scabs and trigg. Steep take off (bigger ones had some gaping holes) to a round shoulder ripe for the ripping. On the right ones, it walled beautifully up all the way to the beach for a classy step off. Best thing about it was that only the fittest paddlers were fighting the rip for the peak (very few tried). Dang it was so worth it! Most consistent/fun right handers I've had in Perth in years.

Its a ripper isn't it, man there is some water moving around there! Always banks around there that little stretch this time of year. I got one that wrapped on me the other day, was surfing almost straight to the beach near the end!

Water was warm and crystal clear and was great to be in. The waves were near flat and i even struggled on my big board....the thing that made my day was seeing a dad take his grom out for some lessons. The gremmy was pumping in the car park giving the old boy some.curry to hurry up. Brilliant

yes saw some epic rights off that rip/bank

much of the rest of the beach was a washing machine of back wash, often breaking on its way out to sea
as my mate said - could get sea sick sitting there

Yeah - there was definitely a few big board snappers coming through... the rip and drift were bad where I was... then the weed came through to add to my joy! I got 5 very average waves in the 80 min I was out there... 2/10. Came home to wash the car - that's how good it wasn't

To those who joined me for a surf today; Did we have fun or what?!

I got nuthin' but backwashy, triple-speed drainers with seaweed aplenty. And I wasn't alone in the stellar conditions.
