well, you would have to be concern if you surf Ballina .

according to the ever reliable gold coast bully the local council is going to stick with aerial spotting even tho testing to spot model sharks place under water only scored a 17% success rate.

reports say lots of sharks still around that area.

locally a shark caused concern in today s 666 distance on the goldie I have it from reports

I did actually post before a link that has shown the water temps in WA spiked and have now returned to normal. Now in NSW the water temps are spiking (it was predicted thanks to El Nina ) and interestingly enough they have now found the same water temp spike for California.

The link has now been made suggesting that something changes with in the local ecosystem during these events. Either be that fish (Shark food) changing their behaviour of be it actual changes in the sharks themselves. That part is not known but the water temps have now been linked and for warned. I was told about a mouth ago the water changes will carry on South and down into the Southern Eastern region.

We've had heaps of sightings locally & elsewhere. Just been lucky with no attacks, I think people are a lot more cautious these days.

They're also finding that sharks don't just constantly migrate, they do hang around areas for considerable time. Which debunks the myth that removing large sharks that are hanging around would not reduce the risk of shark attack. Of course anyone with 1/2 a brain already knew that it would whether they hung around or were constantly migrating.

Just thinking today. You know pup was saying there are chemicals in a shark that if it gets killed get released in the water and the other sharks take off. Happen somewhere twice apparently and they found the connection.

Well couldnt they knock a couple of gws off down south and the rest would p1ss off

Knocking a couple off would reduce risk long term with a possible short term benefit...but you can buy the sh1t.

This one doesn't scare me as much as the others.

Surfing at 6.30pm, alone, near a river mouth. lots of rain lately and bait fish around.

It is when an attack is likely to happen. Whites and attacks in the middle of the day worry me more then what you'd call a typical east coast shark attack by a bull shark .

It is horrible luck and i hope the bloke recovers quick and witout lasting injuries.

Culling in this case IMO is ridiculous, like to see someone try to kill all the bull sharks around Ballina, would take a lifetime and never probably get the one you are after and if you did get the one you want then another one will just take it's place. The only real solution that will keep everyone happy is deterrents or barriers.

I see they say they will have nets deployed before xmas.

I don't know how the nets will work on the north and south wall,the bulls are in and out of the mouth all the time.
