Some good news for a change

I know a French couple 4 doors up from me just got back from Japan Monday been snowboarding there for two months, they don't leave the house they take it very serious, i video linked him and had a few beers talking about his trip he looks fine. Makes you hope others are playing the game.

WA in regional lockdowns. Talk of suburban lockdowns if people don't use common sense and keep their distance.
Hoping we don't need to go there as the surf forecast for Next week is looking good.

Hope to catch some at remote spots on Sunday and next Tuesday. Absolutely no contact with anyone and hopefully a civilised priority line in the lineup.

Will be interesting to see how NZ comes out of their 4 week quarantine . Thinking in Tasmania with tight border controls and a relatively short Lockdown we could eradicate the disease here before it gets out into the community .Lucky for us the Bass Straight is a pretty significant barrier .

You have to wonder how many of those passengers who were let off the cruise ship in Sydney went straight to a supermarket on their way home to stock up?

Yeah it will be.
The question is what do you do after the lock down? Need a vaccine? Keep everyone locked out until the find one. Which may only be a year away anyway? But going to be interesting to see there approach to the aussie approach both seem to rely on different methods.

Yep thought northwest Tasmania had been lucky and missed out until the Ruby Princess and Ovation **** ups . Now about 6 cases here - made it very real very quickly - we are thinking about locking up for a few weeks over Easter no matter what the politicians decide .

Day 2 of 4 week (minimal) lockdown in sunny Auckland, New Zealand and I must becoming more sensible as turn 55 later this year and taking less risks as former adrenaline junkie that didn't learn self restraint until ACL knee reconstruction. Know the advice is treat lockdown as if you personally have the virus and by staying home collectively we break the chain of transmission. So stay in contact with your mates but social distancing or call or text or social media contact to stay in touch
Everyone else please "break the chain" of contact and potential transmission of virus.
Only then will cases reduce

At least NZ is taking concisive action, she's a straight talker, meanwhile Australia is more worried about getting their hair done and a council election.Our Govt federal and some states are a joke, half are##d measures and every state on a different page, schools still open WTF.
Im one week into a two week self isolation after returning from Bali and am seriously considering not going back to construction jobs i have going.Anyway just had a delivery of timber to finish home reno ,home brew back in action, getting back into guitar and shape a couple of boards which ill post for some comedy relief and advice plus try to stay fit.if you can, stay home ,stay safe and look after yourselves and those close as the Govt. is doing a repeat of their inaction as they did with the bushfires, too little too late.

Under your lockdown if you can walk into the beach without coming into contact with others are you able ? Or is it what it sounds like a strict stay in your own property

Which is great. But i still dont want to go there unless absolutely necessary

Went into Bunnings today to top up my gear in case of a lockdown - all going well - got through all the aisles on my own without passing anybody , went straight to a checkout with no one around thinking how good is this for social distancing - standing there on the cross paying my bill ( credit card wave - so no touching ) - next thing this old bloke is in my ear about 5 cm away from me "where is the sausage sizzle today "what the **** - so much for the 1.5 meter personal space

Wonder where you can buy those . From what I have seen the older generation just don't get it . Cracker of a day here today the type of day when normally everybody flocks to the beach - will be a real test on compliance with the social distancing .

When walking people are giving plenty of space even crossing or walking on the road as minimal cars driving.

Watching a news report last night about the closing of St Kilda beach because too many were there and completely ignoring the social distancing regulations. The people interviewed who couldn't see the problem in being there were not Australians. Holidayers did not want to be denied a tan and an eyeful of flesh and a swim in that grungy looking water.
