free surf on now and it looks fun
Oh yeah it looks super fun but super slow
Between waves?
Only just flicked it on and looks pretty good when they come through.
Anyone know the forecast?
Nick Carroll reckons:
Surf. The event should get off to an OK start thanks to a vertically shearing low pressure passing directly south of the continent on July 6. The fetch from this low should produce a well directed pulse of SSW swell for the bay on July 6/7, though a fair bit of it may come overnight. Winds should be fine, SSW offshore/sideshore. This may be followed by a glancing blow from a following storm that’s packing plenty of wind but might just be a little bit too WSW-angled to filter in much for Supers etc. (This storm is gonna blow Indonesia up nicely by the way.)The window then looks to shut for several days, so get ready to see plenty of shots of pros cuddling baby lions etc. Longer term charts do signal the development of a very big storm far to the WSW of southern Africa around July 12. If this storm moves well for J-Bay, you’d expect the last two days of the waiting period to cop something pretty substantial. If it flattens out and bends west-east, the event is gonna struggle.
