Absolute cracker conditions this morning... Tail end of the Easterly cyclone swell that has been smashing NZ made it all the way to the Illawarra... Just in time for the massive southerly swell due to arrive tomorrow!!

Holy moly, what an amazing break!!!!!

Amazing run of swell on the South coast this weekend.... Managed to get the new sled out on a favorite little peak before the crowd got to heavy....

Yes. You have to be very early before the crowds nowadays.

Nice looking board and a nice wave in the back ground, is that a shallow reef break?

yep ,can get shallow on the low tide for sure ,there is a gap in the reef where you paddle out through ..so no sharks in the lagoon ..but yes no diving head first off your board ...more of lay flat ..8'8 custom flow Dave ,126 litre .31 wide ..has very thin rails ,so is a little tippier than you'd expect from a 126 litre board ..with a full wetsuit it as low as I want to go ..I'm still trying to work out if i like it as a thruster or quad ..had a few slide outs on the bottom hand turns with the thruster ..but I've got a heavy foot ..connected to a heavy body ..going back to the quad ..its the kind of board that likes being ridden on the tail ,

Very little man - we've been scoring beautiful weather but no waves.
The Search has been getting heaps of use, which is always sick joy!
I bought a Duotone trainer kite last week! YOOOW .
I'm gonna start chasin' the wind brus! It's another option to keep me frothy when it's crap for SUP! I've been using it heaps gettin' a feel for the wind window, hot launching the kite and generally learning how to use the kite to power the board. I'm freakin' stoked man!!!
It's so sick.
Sunova do kiteboards as well, so I'm fully stoked!!!

Oh - and I pick'd up a new Starboard Wedge. Review to follow - it's a beast!!!

what a strange interesting and funny clip. ??. Your car driving off into the distance at the end is brilliant.

Car crash on the weekend, so opted for a bit of active recovery today. No waves forecast, but there was a surprise swell lurking out there!!!

Bwahaha!!! Yep, that's a classic clip RR!
There's an element of Benny Hill does SUP to it. I'm still chortling out loud!
Not to mention I reckon you got more waves in that one session than I've had in the past three months.

Choice Haddock!
Looks like you scored some sweet and very rippable rights there man.
And dude, are you using a 'car crash' as an excuse to go SUP? Is that what you're telling the boss?
You know, like the dog ate my homework, so I guess I'm just gonna have to go for a SUP-kinda thing.
C'mon man - you can tell us, we won't tell the boss - it won't leave the 'Breeze.
Yeeew!

MangoDingo - haha, totally busted!!!! However, the boss is feeling sorry for me so I think I got away with it

As for the work boss, I took a half day of leave - I actually did have to sort out a tonne of insurance and police paperwork. Happily there was some swell also.
