We had 6" of snow. I trailer my board down to the beach on Saturday. The fat tires helped and got out in the knee to waist high waves. The water at 8 degrees was a fair bit warmer than the air. Lots of surfers out enjoying the crisp winter day.

Cheers

Bob

Was kind of "compare and contrast".....first out at pipe town beach giz this am ....only person out for 45 minutes. Was thinking "would rather be riding my electric skateboard".....the naish 11'4 a big effort to turn and carve. Towball turned up after about an hour and a half and tried to look "keen" . Was walking to surf break in dark with my board dressed in my wetsuit.....guy in car stopped and asked if I was "okay" lol

Town beach this morning....was a bit lonely for a while floating around by myself in dark at first.....but others came. Got dropped in on by the usual sup culprit and stuff like that....the sup culprit apparently the only person to trespass into the area a big surf comp was happening in y/day (there were waves all along the beach)

Got some FILTHY waves this morning!!! First out at sunrize- it was glassy and golden and HEAPS of waves. Absolutely going off. After the past month or longer of monsoon onshore westerlies, she's started to turn offshore and it was PUMPING!!!

Finally got some proper juice to give the 9'4 Creek a run - and oh my goodness. What a board. These things are so sick. Played around heaps with my back foot and the Creek just turns accordingly - and so fast eh.

We had the good fortune of BigHugg up here for a few weeks recently too - the bloke's a deadset legend and if you ever get the chance to hang out, do it - he's funny as, and fair dinkum, he's one of the nicest bloke's around.

He left me with a set of quobbas - far out - how good are these fins?!? I've got the medium centre and large sides in the Creek it works SO SICK. It goes so good and loosens it up enough to leave you grinning after every wave - but no loss of drive.

Anyway, all the local Darwin SUP crew reckon BigHugg's a champ - you've earned your spot in the line-up up here big fella!

So anyway, back to this morning's session. All time except for one small (or rather F**kn HUGE) problem - a massive croc around 3-4 metres long shows up in the line-up. About 50 yards away from us.

Just rose to the surface like a nuclear submarine. And . He was MASSIVE!!!

FinsUp was out on his new smik Bonza and absolutely ripping (where's the post and pics bro?) - he saw it too and he might chime in to back me up - needless to say, we both saw it and started paddling like we're on the homestretch of the Olympics 100 metres freestyle.

Finally managed to get everyone else in - and we're all forced to sit and watch from the beach.
SPEWING - but still scored some filthy waves.
Stoked.

A local surfer/photographer sent me a picture of this snowy day a few hours ago. She had to track me down to find out who to send it to. The building in the background is the Wickanninish Inn. It is a nice place to stay if you are headed out this way once travel restrictions lift.

Tuesday paddle, Seacliff to Brighton pier, with a few little windswell runners . A few Eagle rays and dolphins to bliss the upwind fitness paddle back.

Would like to thank MangoDingo for the most generous use of his Creek and Green machine Search to help us regain our Darwin sealegs before we chased some Nightcliff croc free swell. Awesome bloke..

I have been Mind Paddling this...
Murphy has arranged for pure glass most days, since my board smashed me in the lower back.

9 days without being able to sit, stand or lie down.... so my bed remains neatly tucked in.
Short naps in upright chairs sucks.... but looking off the dock at pure glass every day, is pure torture!

I know, I know.... I am super blessed to have this spot for my convalescence!
It is a dream for sure.... and I appreciate every day here.
The injury is a result of living... and I gladly accept the down time.
It is super short compared to what many of you have endured in the past few years.

Feeling improvement the past two days, so I suspect the wind is about to blow

Pain in paradise. It hurts just as much. Good to hear you are starting to get past it. That does look like a nice spot to stretch it out. Good luck with it.

Back on the horse this morning after a long hiatus on the SUP, clean swell and a chill in the air at Perth most popular beachbreak - I really need to pull my finger out and get a wetsuit - I'm still cold!

Really missed the SUP surfing experience, it was crowded, bit of niggle in the water and plenty of horrenous drop in's but being on the SUP meant I still had fun picking off the waves as the crowd would shift around and a gap would open up and I was able to jag a few fun ones without getting in anyones way.

Good to be back

The beauty of our boards. Even in a crowd there are waves to be had. And with some patience and moving around, using the vantage point to see where the cracks in the pack of surfers, yes sweet to get some.

Had one of those epic sessions not far from home on the weekend.... sun was out, light offshore wind and an empty peak. 3 of us paddled out straight into an awesome starter.... followed by the full main course!! We didn't have it all to ourselves for the whole session.... but certainly not complaining!!

Very picturesque, however I'd rather see coconut trees and grass huts in the back ground if I was surfing it.
Too much snow and too many degrees below zero for this soft sook!

Fantastic weekend of paddling in West Wales (UK). One session Saturday scratching out whatever I could in anklebiters. Fortunately the pulse of swell showed up on Sunday morning for the dawn patrol. Waves were head high with a couple of 8 footers sneaking though. Clean as a whistle and a gentle offshore breeze

manage a couple of hours and then drove back to my home break (second pic) and jumped in there as well - well it would be rude not to, although it was much smaller at about 2-3ft.
I'm absolutely loving the new Sunova Placid, it's the perfect one board quiver for me.
