Go hard, go easy...... we all end up at the center of a paddle-out.
The paddle-out was for a 48 yo friend/surfer/lifeguard.... struggled with life's realities and lost.
It's not a struggle... it's just life with all the trimmings.

and.... the ever present GW's that have closed my local
everyday, after I leave my dawn patrol sessions.
Lifeguards have to clear the water when a GW is spotted... so we surf early.
There was a GW fatality in the region... successful woman, amazing athlete and close friend to some of my SUP buddies. She was swimming near her home on a beautiful island in Maine.... living a full life.
ha ha... I swear, just this second, my phone pinged:
my beach was just closed for one hour due to GW sighting... freeking clockwork every day, it's 10 am.
Such a buzz being the only SUP out when there is a bit of size. I try my best not to get in any ones way and so far have not gone without waves and not got in anyones way, the current moves surfers around a lot and a few times I found myself in prime position with no one near me - Yeow!
