Sorry no camera or GPS so I clicked Google maps. Rose Bay beach to Shark point, to Shark Beach, Shark Island then back.
No shark sightings ;)
Surfing on the Sidewinder today, was not intentional but when I arrived at the local there were some little waves calling me. The Stingrays did not appreciate me disturbing them when I came a cropper.
Shoreham had a small uncrowded wave this morning until I started to bounce off the reef when I fell off a wave. Will wait till this arvo and have another surf on a higher tide.
Kicked off the New Year with a surf and a fish at Kaiaua. Surf not very good.....fish so small I let them all go. But kind of traditional for me to make a "first surf of the year" video. So it is what it is
The crowds have arrived had to go the long way to get around them all and found my first SUP hater who said I can't surf here, what a dick! I kept paddling to his location and he kept moving on further and further away until he found more guys on sups who could out surf him any day.
Big storm rolling through the west coast of Vancouver Island. Blowing 30 knots with gusts that blew me off my board even when on my knees and torrential rains. The power was out at home. There were about 12 of us out at the only surfable protected beach. Fantastic to be out in the storm. Caught 10-12 reflected waves off the rock wall at McKenzie beach. Very tight takeoff and quite a bit of board to board contact but great vibe and everyone enjoying being out in the storm. There was a thread recently about taking off in big offshore winds and I used every trick I could remember. Thanks guys, great advice. I was grinning like a Cheshire Cat, still am smiling.
