Don't get me wrong I'm not being funny, this is a serious question. But alot of those picks look as though it would be very hard to release a kite should all go wrong, especially the second one??
I don't no much but I do know numerous companies have all spent considerable time and money reseashing and developing and come up with a very similar result. Why do you believe your designs are better? It looks like you altered it only to be different in the process made it harder to attach to and from the kite, more failure points made of a weaker material and a lot less safe??
Im seriously not pulling the p#ss just stating what I see, please enlighten me?
I'm not sure if you are serious or not, and so i'm confused about your post, but will answer it just in case, and because i guess others could be feeling something similar and I want to promote safety and getting people away from using hooks who don't need them.
Don't you realise that even if you ride with a standard harness hook, if the poo is kitting the fan and you have to flag or release your kite, you would still need to activate the red primary release? The is nothing on my setups that prevents the chicken loop from releasing.
The chicken loop release in all the pics is stock standard.
I know it works before I leave the beach, because I have to assemble it each time I launch, AND I use it every time I land my kite. When was the last time you checked that your primary safety releases easily and properly? The Ozone release is ultra reliable and has no known issues, and I test my one is functioning 2 times each session.
I ride with the stock standard Ozone mini leash connected to the flagging line and through the chicken loop, because thats my back up in case the rope breaks. If the rope broke the kite would not flag out and depower, potentially put me in a bad situation in waves with a downed kite. The bar would be easily within reach as I am using a short leash, so I'd just grab the bar, effectively now unhooked and if I needed to, I'd depower using the trimmer, and ride back to shore.
The Dynabar rope on the second setup is a rope inside a rope, the first one is the Ride Engine stock rope but I retied the knots and glued them so they cannot come undone and its in very good condition and has a load rating +1000kg, its not going anywhere and I will change the rope to a double (one inside the other) next season. I could add a double rope, but I don't see the need as I check my gear frequently.
The short leashes are stock standard and every Ozone kite now comes with one, but they can be purchased separately from any Ozone dealer. Same with Cabrinha, their kites come with the short leash and the short leash can be purchased separately from any Cabrinha dealer.
Here is another good setup (Mystic Warrior 3/Dynabar spreader bar and pad) for those that don't want the sliding system and prefer a central pull from the kite, but still never unhook.
