interstate travelers into WA need to be triple vaxed.
but international arrivals into WA only need to be double vaxed

So if you are double vaxed you can arrive via Singapore but not via Adelaide.

Yep, WA predicts 10,000 per day by 3rd March.

NSW had 9,743 today, following the trend of lower than 10,000 every day for the last 14 days at least.

Surely 10,000 divided by a small number is less than a number that is smaller than 10,000 divided by a big number.

Ahh, I think I already covered that one, from the link I posted.

Despite what you seem to think, it may not be that easy to get triple vaxxed outside of Australia. I think allowing in double-vaxxed people is reasonable.

There was also "International arrivals will also be allowed in if they meet the Commonwealth requirements to enter Australia, and take a rapid antigen test within 12 hours of arrival and report any positive result."


So, what is the alternative that would keep Caranto-smith happy? Only allow in triple vaxxed internationally? Wouldn't allow too any people and its going to be capped at 70 anyway, They are only repatriating residents.

I read the instructions, and the best I can guess as to why there is greater than 100% is:

"Dose one vaccinations per 10,000 people ? The data in this chart represents the number of Dose one vaccinations received per 10,000 people of age 12+ in each area. ? Doses are mapped to regions based on the residential address of the recipient rather than the place where the vaccine was administered."

Is this correct? Stuffed if I know, you would have to call them up and ask someone that knows.

But you are right. I do generally adhere to things either being a result of human error, incompetence, or both. Especially when it comes to people that work in pigeon holes where they are able to get away with stuff.

I once worked with a manager that thought an internet link with more than 3000% utlisation was acceptable for the customer to see on their reporting platform. When I finally convinced him that it was not only unlikely but against the laws of physics, he conceded 'garbage in = garbage out' despite it being his groups responsibility to configure the thing in the first place and he owned the 'garbage in' part of the deal. Humans make mistakes and are lazy.

WA has probably administered the vax to loads and loads of people day tripping there whilst the borders were closed from all the adjacent very highly populated areas that are very sparsely populated. I mean if I lived on the sunshine coast I sure as hell would pop over to WA via the closed border for the morning to get a free vax that I could also get on the sunshine coast. Makes so much sense. What if somebody arrives in WA from NZ, but transited through Brisbane airport ? Double or triple for them ?

Maybe if they arrive into Karratha and put the international flight number on their card then double vax is fine, but if it is a code share flight and they put the domestic flight number on the card, then the same person would pose too much of a risk and would need to be triple vaxed.

You might want to re-evaluate your first paragraph. The way I read it you think that people were visiting, when the interpretation actually says that it is based on their residential address, not where they got vaccinated. Again, if you really care, call someone that knows, but conceivably this could mean that a resident of whatever area in WA could get vaccinated elsewhere and get counted against their residential address. That would make sense though, so continue with your anger at the reports and don't bother with explanations.

Its clear that McGowan doesn't want the risk of unvaccinated people here and the double vax thing for international returns seems to be because it may not be that easy getting a booster shot OS as it is here. That's my guess at least, but that would be logical and not a fairytale.

What are you worried about? You were saying it affects your business? Surely you can get a triple vaxed courier to do your shipments? Or as you say, send it via Bali with a double-vaxxer.

Two options, report the positive test and get put into iso for 7 days, or don't report it and carry on my holiday or work routine as normal. Pretty easy decision really isn't it.
