So do you now believe what the ABC says about vaccines? Or do you reject most of what they say, and only accept the little bits that suit you?
Whoaaa calm down, calm down.
I think you may be a little confused. The ABC didn't say anything about vaccines. The ABC just reported what Nick Coatsworth said. Because that is what ABC News should do - report was has been said, what has happened, what is occuring. Not "say stuff about things". Saying stuff about things is what we do here.
So do I beLIEve the ABC News that Nick Coatsworth said what they said he said - well yep I did, although I'll confess I didn't actually hear it in person with my own ears.
I am not sure what you think I don't belive what the ABC has "said". I can't think of any times I haven't belived what the ABC has reported on did happen. And not too many times that I have not believed what ABC has "said". My memory fades but I do recall I did reject ABC/RMIT Fact Check conclusion that some countries "run on 100% renewable", which did turn out to be confirmed as incorrect by many other people for the very reasons I suggested. Perhaps that is something they "said" ?
My rejection of notions that covid vax will "stop you catching covid" was not about what the ABC "said" but what was assereted by politicans. Which also turns out to be correct.
Are you able to provide an example where you beLIEve I have chosen to not belive and then also belive what the ABC has "said" based on simply reinforcing any preconceived notions or opinions I may have ??
The ABC is great. It should be be better. It shouldn't get so offended by constructive criticism. It shouldn't defend the actions of some of its staff on the basis that criticism of those actions is equal to calling for the ABC to be disbanded. It shouldn't try to compete against commercial broadcasters or media companies. It shouldn't try to be everything to everyone. It should deliver its services within a budget. It should be fair and apolitical. But it should also be dynamic, progressive, informative and contribute to the public debate.
If you don't understand that the ABC as a whole can be better even when a tiny percentage of it is criticised, then I pity you.
