I think I've ridden my v1 96cm Axis mast so much that I'm used to it's nuances and can turn it pretty well. It has started to feel somewhat draggy when I ride my chopped ART999 (now 899) and ART799. When I try to bear away and push for speed, things feel very loaded up and I feel like things are about to blow up with the slightest mistake. With the 325p tail (no shim), it takes all I have to get it anywhere near 20kts.
I have also heard about quality control issues with NL masts (AL plate to carbon) but I am hoping that since I'm not super heavy (70kg) and don't ride huge wings (ART999 my largest) that it should be okay.
Really looking for a unicorn I guess: fast, light and strong. Haha
Unfortunately it's unlikely you'll find anything lower drag than the mast you have (except a shorter version)
Otherwise I'd agree, use it for your smaller wings and it's a great, SUPER low drag mast at 14.5mm down low where it counts. I hadn't ridden the 86cm V1 for about 1.5 years but after three hours on it today, I'd say the advantages more than outweigh the disadvantages. The biggest advantage being I own it already

The only time I really noticed any flex was going high speed through one foot confused chop. Pumping and roll transitions were better than I remembered. Most of the complaints people had with the V1 were probably due to poor fitment to the fuse which was pretty sloppy from the factory.
