I tried a few time the quatro wing driter, and on touch down, it felts really good! I think it's on the + side ! On take off I felt a bit of stickiness compare to other boards I've tried. Not something to worry about but it's not the best glide or the best liftoff on the market. It was paired with an armstrong foil. Maybe shimming the mast plate or maybe it's the bottom shape, cannot say did not own a quatro to do tests. Nothing to worry when you have enough wind.
True. I think what helps is to find a right volume for your size and to study the rocker and how the volume is placed and where the "gliding surface" is on the board and spend some time setting up everything and trying different settings, and then using a technique that takes advantage of this flat area and would not sink the nose or the tail of the board that much. I'd say it's much more difficult to learn how to get a good small wave windsurf board going in very little wind - with a wave boards you really need to be light on your feet and to move your position on the board gradually further back as the speed increases, and really pay attention not to jerk the board up and down too much but let it slide through the water smoothly. With the wing boards it's much easier. Flat water helps too, to get to ride a bit in some pretty desperate looking conditions : )
