It's how you use it that counts....Doug's often slogging along on his 8.5 while I'm easily planing on my 6.5.

Ok, so I have an injured mother to look after this weekend :( I can get away Sat mid morning onwards and that's about it for this weekend.
Am I correct in reading plans are being made for Sunday only?

While a few of us will probably be sailing tomorrow at the Point, Sunday is the day when everyone will be meeting up.

Guys, don't forget to pack your booties. It's not urchin season, but better safe than sorry.
Also pack something for lunch, otherwise its a 15 min each way trip back to town for something to eat.

Just got home. Awesome day at the Point. Finally cracked the 30 knot barrier . Low tide was mid morning so the weed beds were a bit of a pain early but once you get out its fine. As the tide came up around lunchtime, the runs were great as the weed kept the chop down.

If tomorrows wind is like it was today, you will have a blast.

edit: just saw forecast - stronger winds for tomorrow

Thanks. Been a while coming. Despite my better judgement, I have to learn to listen to Red more when it comes to all matters windsurfing lol.

Despite VicRoad's pathetic attempt at sabotaging our expedition to meet our western neighbours by closing the Westgate Bridge, our convoy fought its way across the Yarra tore through Geelong like we owned the place. OK - so we actually got lost and enjoyed a meandering tour of the waterfront, local beauties flicking Drift a knowing glance as they eyed up his muscle car (erm, gold X-Trail) and wondered what it'd be like to ride bareback on his new Xcite 135. They'll never know - he likes to keep 'em guessing! The crew just kept on turning left until we stumbled on the Point - stopping only to admire the Salt Works and the World Heritage listed Alcoa Steel Plant. It doesn't get much better than this.

OB64, Red and a band of other very friendly and knowledgable locals put on an excellent day for us. Low tide meant a small scramble across the weed beds, but the open water and long runs more than compensated. The wind blew, then blew some more and just kept on blowing. A few of the locals managed to crack 30 knots. I managed to crack my hip. Old Salty managed to literally crack his nose - his own nose - whilst attempting his final 360 loop of the day. It wasn't a pretty sight, what with the condom hood thing going on, and a few small children did end up in tears. I think we'll club together and get you a Gath.

It was great to see so many people turn out for the day. A rammed carpark throughout the day and boards up and down the beach. A few mentions:

OB64 - obviously a sailing fanatic and a speed junkie. Thanks for organising the day and for turning the wind on.

Red - constantly giving up his own sailing time to give us tips and hints throughout the day. Suggested I drop my boom by a couple of inches - made a HUGE difference to my sailing.

Karry - the only girl on the water and boy did she blast. Great to have such enthusiasm. Ian was struggling to keep up - I'm sure I overheard him telling her that weeds ON the fin make you go quicker...

EJMack - he's now stepped up to the Big Boy's Club and does all that fancy gybing business miles off shore. We barely saw him all day - and even when I did see him he wasn't wet/bruised/knackered from an obvious lack of falling in. This is against the spirt of our club EJ - Salty has registed your misdemeanours in his Black Book.

Bloke with Muffins - this isn't a porn film. I simply can't remember the guys name but he took the time out to make some great apple muffins for all. Come to think of it, there's a sequel. Bloke with Muffins 2. Now this does sound a bit like a porn film, but this other guy brough chocolate muffi..... For all you kiters out there, this is how we hardcore sailborder boys mix it. You need to HTFU and get some double choc chip down you. Anybody got the recipe...?

Drift - today's providore. Supplied a fine cheeseboard. For those of you who are new to Seabreeze and anticipated a windsurfing forum full of chit chat about sailing, I'm afraid you're on the wrong thread. Now what was that wonderful gorgonzola Mick?

Old Salty - planed like a Winged Adonis out there today. Ended up with a nose like Joe Bugner and a charge sheet for wearing a mask in an offensive manner, but El Presidente just can't stay out of the water. It was that cheeky 'one final run' that caused the anguish - dedication laid bare!

WindyKid - the next generation. This youngster racked up with his Bombara and his old man and let loose. Well done for coming mate - get yourself down to Inverloch in the summer. Make sure your Dad drives. Or at least don't speed if you have a Ferris Bueller moment.

To wrap - longest runs on the plane for me since I started in November. Got my waterstarts upto about 30% - I'm happy. All in all - a great day out.

Thats the trouble when you leave it to the poms...they leave bits out.

I don't I'd be alone in saying today was one of the best sailing days I have ever had.
Great winds, an awesome location and a **** hot bunch of guys and girls just tearing into it.

Was a great day all round! I've never seen so many smiling people on the water at once. Was fantastic to finally meet the Inverloch crew and already talk of a reciprocal trip..

Well its acctually sailingkid croweman, but close enough. Upon reading around this afternoon ive found that i had the wrong gear rigged, with my 6m sail and 36cm fin. (shoulda rigged the 5m and 30cm fin)
I did get going a few times though, which was fun. Ive gotta work on the footstraps though so i can acctually stay on the board. I'll try and get out more as well. That nose doesen't look to good though...

Big news -have decided to quit my weekend job, so wont miss the next "get together" and other windy days that I have of late.

I just want to say how great it was to have such a good turn out for the day. And the weather certainly didnt disappoint.
I had a fun sail but am paying for it now. I hope I dont have to lift too much heavy stuff at work over the next few days.
