You can probably ammend Swan Bay to include an easterly especially at low tide. There is a nice bank that runs N/S that would give an awesome speed run.

Pffff - you are just talking the talk cos you are worried that my speeds are getting too close to yours [}:)]. No amount of trash talk will slow me down - have to leave that to sand banks and weed beds

Just thought it worthwhile restating that all comers welcome on the day itself - more the merrier. The thing I've grown to enjoy really enjoy about this sport is the mass of enthusiasm and willingness to share tips etc - so be great to see as many as possible racing Red and Salty. For those who are still at the chugging phase, erm, that's me then, don't be put off coming down for the day - there's always a worse sailor than yourself (particularly in the Inverloch group...)

Yes I agree totally. The more the merrier.

While I did suggest some events for the day, its all about just having fun and meeting others with the windsurfing bug.


Another 'event' I did think of, and one which I am sure that I will be a finalist, is the most spectacular 'dismount' for the day

If anyone has friends/relatives/kids who would like to give windsurfing a try, I can bring my 155L GO down and have it rigged for people to use (someone may have to supply a mast though as I only have one 430).

Sounding like this could be an epic day ,as long as the wind god's are friendly, But as long as we have wind we can put at a spot to sail

Gents - she's on for Sunday. The stars are aligned and the Geelong welcoming committee reckon that the weather's looking good for Sunday. We're all Victorians - some with a slightly odd (pommy) accent - so we all know that the forecast is about as reliable as a British tabloid pronouncing that the 2009 Ashes Squad is the 'best ever' and the urns literally in the bag...

The plan - which is about as solid as Flintoff's left knee, is this:

Meet at Maccas @ 9 on the way to Geelong on Sunday. Precise location to be posted when I get around to it/can find it on Google. Suspect its a huge yellow and red sign with a load of cars parked outside with boards on top. You cant miss my board - its as big as the Spirit of Tasmania. If you can't be ar*sed meeting up, then I suppose we'll just see you at the Point. Beware, Salty takes it personally and memberships can/will be revoked. This has a dollar value of almost zero. Actually, I think it is zero - which raises some questions about the competence of our committee.

OB64 and Red will be our guides. I can't promise that they'll have torches and show you to your seats, but I'm assured they know the local waters and will ensure that nobody drowns. Despite our insurers looking into it, there are no guarantees about having the odd limb nipped off, although it would be considered rude to make an issue of it should one of return to our loved ones slightly less complete than we started at 730am. Get a grip!

OB64 is going to post rigging/parking etc before Sunday. El Presidente, er, Old Salty, will post a go/no go on Saturday.

Again - all comers welcome. Fast boys, fast girls and sluggers like me are all encouraged to come along. Give it a go. It's like the United Nations - only in Geelong.

Then head through to Geelong and follow the signs that say to Portarlington. Get onto Ryrie St and it will take you past the CSIRO Animal Health Laboratory and then the Salt Works. Turn left at next set of lights onto Point Henry rd.






If the forecast holds, it will be light in the morning and then pick up a little after lunch.

Hey Drift like the idea of a fly over. Spitfires would be excellent. Perhaps a marching band, a mayoral speach and hand the keys overs to the city. Billy B and Gary A to wave us off on the water and a couple of tug boats with water cannons that we can sail under. Red/OB64 can you set up please?

What's anyone's thoughts on the weather for Sunday at Point Henry? Bom's not looking to hot but seabreeze is saying differently. And the forecast for either side of the weekend is fairly good.....fingers crossed we get good conditions.

BOM is 15 - 20 knots N - NW so probably around 15 - 18 at Pt Henry and better in arvo so it should be fine. Just not as epic as last week lol.

Cheers Ob. My largest is a 6.5m/110 l board so anything from about 14 knots upwards I'd be happy with.

Evan cannot hold anything up bigger than a 6.5 anyway
