Yeah guys it was sure a relief to get that call late this morning especially since only half an hour earlier I was pretty gutted after being advised that the insurance company wasn't going to payout $70k+ for the vehicle as a surf lock is not classed as a secure device to store keys in on a vehicle, take this as a lesson to all, check with your insurance companies & see if you're covered using one, don't wait until it's too late as it's not a good feeling.
WOW - this is big news. I love my surflock. I am going to make a call today and find out. Thanks for passing this info on Vanders.
EDIT:
I have just called the NRMA who have advised me that as long as every reasonable effort has been made to protect my car and it is stolen then I am covered. I advised them that I wanted a direct ruling on using a surflock and was then informed that its definitely covered as it as seen as theft. So if you are an NRMA policy holder it would seem that you are covered.
Who were (past tense as surely you will change now

) you insured with Vanders?
