I really struggle with Ben because he comes across as a nice sort of guy so with that I figured he has half a brain, guess I was wrong, but I'd say there would be a heap of players sniffing coke.

I reckon you're right Mac. I heard on the news that he has gone into rehab overseas. Hope he gets through it because he's got 4 kids as well.

IMO the whole rehab thing is a load of BS.
It's just a way of escaping the media,their club, the fans,their family,etc and running away from the problem.
Don't get me wrong, rehab has its place in society but too many times it's just about a guy having a big night out and making bad decisions.
e.g Mitchel Pearce.

Geez I have seen crew from the most privileged of backgrounds and people who are considered highly intelligent all fall by the wayside of addiction...it is a horrible disease that will take anyone without giving a **** to how smart or clever one should be....

Re the Sharkies - history of abuse sadly at that club - some of it planned by management some by the players. Along with several others mind you. As others have said here - Coke is everywhere. Its a party drug - we all know its not an epo type drug that enhances performance. Sports people like it as its in and out really quick - I wonder if he was targeted? I also wonder if anyone else was tested from the club? Always seems weird to me that the moment the stories are broken in the press the club has its media release all lined up and everything done. Seems they probably knew about it for a while I reckon. If this is the case its a shame they did not have the guts to come clean sooner - it would also seem the NRL knew about this before the press. Compliant?

Not sure a 12 week ban is fair - you could argue its against the WADA rule book but a lot stronger than an AFL rising star who can hide at his coaches place to avoid being tested. I hate it when there are diff rules for diff folk.

Not all NRL players are on huge money,I was surprised what Corey Parker was on to stay at the broncos and what he was payed in his first few years as a Bronco first grader,I've become friends with a new signing on the GC and he is going to be good for them this year,put it this way a good tradesman who works for himself would make heaps more.

Who am I to judge someone else when I don't know the full story and I'm not believing the media.

Why do we test them anyway. Not performance enhancing and nothing good comes from it. Damaging for the player, the club and the league.

To me the scences of the media harassing his partner and kids as they got in the car is to morally more wrong then what Ben did.

Yes he is stupid but stupidity isn't illegal. Drugs are but I just don't care if someone e a line of Coke at a party. Doesn't make them a bad person....

Wonder the social and medical cost of those compared to party drugs??

The NRL should get a top notch brothel on board. Then they've ticked all the boxes.

Any you can recommend Scotty? . They used to have guy who owned a big brothel and was a big punter Eddie Crayson. Good mates with a few NRL types apparently. So maybe they should seek him out for advice
