So why arent we locking down every flu season and saving 3000 lives if the arguement is to save one life from a covid19 ?

I don't feel this whole thing has been so much of a con by the Oz Gov. C19 is real, but it has been sensationalized by the media & I feel although I do not agree with how the Oz Gov handled it. I think they just acted in a way that they felt was for the good of the country based upon what was being reported by other countries.

The old & the at risk peeps need to self isolate & the money they've wasted by giving peeps on the dole x2$ & money for people who have lost an income due to their actions would have been far better served by providing community services to allow the old & at risk to properly self isolate. And then if they chose not to self isolate & their life was endangered that would be their choice at the risk of receiving the ultimate penalty.

Those that provide services to the at risk peeps can utiliize PPE & as a result more PPE stock would also be available.

This is what I think they should implement right now, each successive week will only make it harder to get somewhat back on track to normality.

The US has many sick, old, obese, unhealthy & "dence" (dense) populations (prev joke was silly btw, as insinuation was missspelt ) but I'm not chasing biff either, only clarity.

I mentioned to Mac the other day I'd get back to him coz we needed to see annual (12 mnth) data to make a comparison. Note later comparison will not be based upon Influenza (1.5k-3k) deathrate vs C19 X amount. Other data will also need to be looked at like did pnuemonia & associated health conditions take a sudden drop which would have implications of error like other countries have shown (US/Italy). Personally I think our data is far more accurate than anywhere else. Only scured by the availability & access to testing. It has been proven the virus is far more widespread than previously thought. However as previously widely reported, most people present minor symptoms if they are healthy & have not been tested unless they are categorized as at risk or working in a health service.

Scomo was Scapegoated for what should have been blamed on the state governments who had scaled back on proven fire prevention methods like backburning & succombing to greeny activists who essentially caused greater damage to what they held dear coz they don't see the big picture. Like C19 really

went to the docs, saw lots more people in town today.

Had to do a run to Melbourne today, first time off the Island in over a month.
Worried about getting stopped, asked where I was going etc.
Traffic looked like normal, even busier than normal in the suburbs, people everywhere.
Back holed up on the Island and safe again now.
