Bloody great deal but after much consideration I've decided I want some right hand barrels & thinking Nias, Bay of Plenty or Simeulue...going some time, 2017 3rd Quarter. Missus is going to see her fave band in Japan, so I have like 7 days of freedom before meeting her in Bali. Might opt to just stay in Bali if swells big for simplicity of options, gonna be a last minute wait & see what the swells doing. Really need head high to triple head right hand barrels

Yeah Gland is tempting but still a bit pricey compared to elsewhere. If it was a right hander I'd go for sure, but yeah.

I'm definitely very interested in your info, the new wave caused about 10 years ago by the island rising with an earthquake looks like somewhere I'd enjoy staying & the asking price is very reasonable.

Also would like to know if getting hold of beers is an issue??? I read somewhere that it can be & would be a deal breaker for me. I like to have a shiraz & a few beers each day. Thats my main concern lol

And also if there is a large swell it seems like everywhere could be too big except tbags & a bit of a point from what I've read.

I'm still going to leave it right up to the last 2 weeks to decide I think. If there is a big swell I will probably go straight to Bali or maybe Nias. Otherwise that place looks perfect

Yeah difficult conditions...sometimes people can really shine pulling off amazing stuff given the conditions. But I must admit to not watching for very long...hope they enjoyed having less crowded conditions for their comp at least.

Great read on Clinton Guest's instagram page,won the Noosa nose ride pro comp on his good mate Mark McNamara board who sadly passed 2 years ago,he rode it untouched same wax same fin,its a great read nice work Clinton,btw I've never met Clinton. The Clearwater boys should be having a drink for this one well done.

I have ridden a Joker. Paddled good, stable to stand and reasonably easy to surf.

Joker Model: It is a very versatile longboard that will ride big waves with confidence. It has a deep double concave and a chimed vacuum rail (like my seaglass boards or a boogie board). This lets the rail engage in the wave and the board naturally lifts to the highline across the face. The tip of the tail lifts like the Model A tail with lift to the deck. This tightens the turning radius dramatically. So you turn from further up the board and work more off the rails than the fins. This gives far more control in a critical pocket and you the board never bounces up and down on a big wave when going fast. I developed this board in the year 2000 and I have been getting great feedback for years from the first ones I made. I recently bought back Joker number 2 and I love it! The board are lasting longer now because the materials have become so good and my glassing techniques so refined that a foam board can be surfed hard for 13 years and still be in very good condition.

Thanks SP I saw the board last night on gumtree it's located not far from me, the dims are on the small size for me.

I wouldn't compare it to what you ride now, they aren't a typical long board.

The one i rode was 22 and a 1/4 wide. They are supposed to be narrow.

They aren't designed to be a boat and glide They are designed to be put on rail to get the bottom working so hence why they are narrower.

The 9'4 i rode paddled nearly as good as my 10ftr because of the rocker.
