Just a couple of pics of the full fun Quiver and the latest addition to McTavish Involvement.
'10In the Pic are the 10' log ( Surfboardf Warehouse ) 9'5" McT Involvement, 7'10" Black Appache "Shewolf", 7'10" AQlan Oke Single Fin, 6'10" LuKe Studer Widowmaker and a 6'0" Twin Keel Fish. I ride and love all of them but most excited about having just christened the McT Involvement.
So after getting back from Indo i was finally aainted with the Board in waiting the McT Involvement. Got Christened in shoulder height fasirly full beachy that ran along for about 60m...pretty ideal longboard wave.
Well...what can i say. This thing had blown me away, its everything i was hoping it would be and more. Paddles well and manages my Nearly 100kg easily, Manages a late take offs well but havent had it in Cylinders yet. The pinched trails hold their line and fine trim with ease but still allow to manouver up[ and down the face if trying to line something else up ahead. It preferred Pivot turns rather that rail cutty'
s in these waves but look forward to trying it out some more in other waves to see where it goes comfortably.
I was expecting it to be a technical ride, but its not, its easy ,groovy and awesome and i love it. Gets some speed up to and most suprisingly to me was i was able to get nose time no worries so i am happier than a swine in the proverbial !!

Thats an impressive quiver must be hard to pick one for the mornings paddle.
I've been eyeing the shewolf for a while.
Whats it need to be for choosing the shewolf over the others.

Yes indeed - nice quiver. So is the 7'10" Black Appache "Shewolf" the board you were throwing round in Bali? Seems you just love single fins - ever played on a quad?

Seriously can not wait to get my hands on this puppy. Been wanting one of your shapes for a long time now and am super excited to be getting one. Not sure where its first surf will be but I am hoping for my fav right hand reef to be working when I get back to Indo next weekend. Stoked. Thanks so much Tux - you are da man.

Full un-biased review will take place sometime soon once some testing has taken place ! Now I just need to get it from Melb somehow in the next week. Can feel a business meeting or two needed down that way

Got the new beast today via the courier with Tux. Just opened her up and my first thoughts went along the lines of "what the farrrrrk have I ordered" In person they really are a truly weird design. All in a good way though. I love the look of it. Tux has kept heaps of meat through the middle of it. I think its going to go insane. Very tempted to get it wet asap but another part of me wants to wait until I get back to base and launch her into some good quality waves right off the bat. We shall see. If some nice waves come my way the next week I will not be disappointed I guess.

Been doing heaps of research re fin set ups. Tux rides his as a quad. Most of the blokes riding them as thrusters use a fairly upright fin. I have been riding my Nano (thanks to LL) with a set of AM2s - lots of rake - which gives you heaps of hold - which gives you heaps of confidence when its critical. Will be interesting to see how they go in this new weapon. And boy does it look like a weapon !! Looks like it will be super fast from A - B - which is definitely my preference whilst running for cover

Thanks Tux - this new board is insane !!! If anyone is after a new stick I would suggest you give him a crack. Great service and super product. Ride report to follow once she gets wet.

I got asked a few questions about boards and pictures.....nek minit I was talked into organising a board to be auctioned at the V8 super car charity lunch. Board will be signed by all the drivers.

The "Disco Mullet" before it went off to the glassers this morning....5'8 x 21 x 3 full nose concave into flat into a vee bottom...keels or controller quads recommended.....should go fast in the slop and still let you slide five over the front...basically a tuned up mini simmons

I definately need to know more about the Oke.

It has his original Early plain black ink outline on rice paper Oke Tree decal. i believe added some colour '70-71?

I know he started officially in 68 and the Board has the number 820. Maurice Cole suggested years ago it could be late 69/70 but that would suggest they were moving a few boards at the time at about 2.5 per day. Perhaps a little too refined for late 69?

Love to know. It rides well as mentioned, surfed on of my most memorable waves on it.
