Whats your view on them? Why would you own one? What conditions would you take one out?
Would you consider buying a HP 10 footer?

Unreal in 1-2ft soft waves - on those days when I normally turn back and head for home I can now go out and have a bucket load of fun - I think that is reason enough to have one in the quiver. If I lived near one of those long long lovely points of NSW and SE Queensland then it would get even more use.

I would never consider a HP longboard of any description. Longboards are not for HP. Shortboards are

Mine is a 10x23x3 Takayama mod t and I don't plan to sell it.

Wouldn't get a hp 10ftr, mainly ride it when it is small so log is the go. I also weigh under 70 kg so anything more hp like I'd go a 9'0.

Had my 10' log in surf from knee high to 2' overhead, and it flies.

Can't turn it though. :D

I'm with you Ted..on those days when you'd head for home...I'm after a 10' if any are going

i love my 10' its my shoulder Hi and down board. a hi performance 10'er not my bag.

I have a 10ft model T , a 9'9 custom Astro and soon to take delivery of a 9'6 Grugstep ,love riding the first two on points and when it's small to head high . Personally HP boards shouldn't be over 9'4 , ideally 9'1 or 9'2.

My 10:0 Model T is a great board and my first pick for up to shoulder high. Great for nose rides and contrary to what some people claim it turns perfectly for that size wave.

Based on this post the Model T It does appear to be to a popular choice for that size board, and justifiably so!

I changed from a hatch fin to a big raked 11.5 inch flex tip and it goes like a different board.

From the shaper (who shall remain nameless unless someone asks)...............

"A "Pig" inspired shape with the widest and thickest part of the board 18" behind half way. So a long subtle concave and flat rocker from the nose leads to the rolled bottom at the widest point and rolled slight V out through the tail.Everything revolves around the widest and thickest part of the board back behind 1/2 way .You step forward and with the flat rocker and nose concave it just takes off. You step back and with the rolled V through the tail it just tips into a turn so easily with the big hatchet fin."

i have a hp 10 footer and i love it, i've had it out in anything from knee high to 1.5 to 2 times overhead, i do prefer it at breaks that arn't beach breaks as i cant duck dive the beast but i can surf it as i am 6'2 and 115kg, going to get a more redefined model of the custom i have now
