beerdead said.. Not in the same league as the previous boards, but finished this today.
10' 3" x 25 3/4 x 3 3/4
2 x 6oz deck x 1 x 6 oz bottom, epoxy resin, which is a first for me. A few blemishes but I am happy overall. Need to cure it for a month apparently, which is not an issue as I am not surfing atm, but will be soon. :D
Good job man, bet that'll give ya a lot of joy when you & your board are cured
Ted, it sanded quite easily. Apparently the modern epoxy is different from that of old. Of more concern were the few amine blush spots, but a bit of a sand and some metho allowed a patch on these. Worse was the pimples in the finish coat. I finally tracked these down to particles in the hardener. Despite using one of the Mrs' stockings to filter, I still got pimples. Then I found she had given me a stocking with a hole in the toe. She needs to cut her toenails! If the particles could be controlled, the finish coat has a far better gloss than I could ever polish into it.
Dazzler, thank you for christening Rosie. :D
To be honest it has a bit too much belly for my liking, and it weighs a ton. Only riding it will show if it catches waves as well as it's predecessor.
