Terrible news to hear of a fellow kiter meeting such an end, even worse when it is someone you've shared the waves with at your home beach. I'm sure the place wont seem the same to many without him, and not a session will go by without a moment of reflection had for the terrible shame it is how someone can lose their life doing the very thing that makes them feel so alive. My thoughts to his family and friends at this time, such a character will surely be eternally reminisced by all who knew him.

To all those who were there, if your like me you are struggling a bit, maybe having a few flashbacks... Remember to keep talking to those you love.

Was he riding most of the time with an Ozone Edge yellow/red/black? Often on Melville beach?

From Northern California, I am a long way away, but would be happy to help donate some cash or something to his family.

Got three boys...2.5, 5 and 15 and could not fathom never being able to say good bye or losing the chance to see them grow into young men.

Going kiting today and for once since my original lessons, I am going to start wearing a helmet.

to a friend that was always there to lend a hand, give advice, cover your back if things go wrong.

i went out on a new surfboard at pelican point, got all screwed up and ended down near the freeway. unbeknown to me marc jumped in his van, drove around to the freeway, up and over the canning hwy exit, parked in the breakdown lane, jumped the fence and walked out to waist deep to asset me...... at that point the wind picked up and i managed to get back up wind to where i started. marc came up to me after i came in, had a chat and said we were watching out for you... it was only later that another friend told me what marc did...

I'm actually in tears reading the comments. Didn't know him in person but sounds like he was the essence of what the sport is about. Having fun and sharing it with others.

I spoke to margo today and she has read the thread and is really touched by the comments . I will post up a reply from her hopefully sometime today

Yeh went for another morning raid today and I can say i totally relate to what you are saying above. His wife has said get out there and yell and yeeha, which is awesome advice, but I must admit, there is not much of that coming from me. Just a meditative cruise and a good old think. Heavy hearted for sure so I can only imagine what you guys who knew him are going through.

Out of town and I just received a email from a bud as I was planning on hitting ocean beach San Fran for a kite.

Thanks for the kind words bear. I went down to.the site today and said my goodbyes and then went to Melville to try and kite. The bastard took the wind away from me and no doubt he was laughing at me. Miss him so much and I am so proud of what the community has done to help me provide for Milo's future. All the bitching and trolling that goes on is good fun but when it matters everyone bands together. Proud to be a kiter
