Sad sad news.

Everyone at Peli Point knows him well for his big personality and prescence in the water over the last 10 years.
Not looking forward to a season with out him around.

I had just arrived at SC yesterday and was looking at going out, seeing phil and guys on scene doing all they could, i went over to lend assistance as best as possible,
the guys were fanatastic in effort and professionalism. There was nothing left else to do on the scene.
Having spoken with him on numerious ocassions it makes it all the harder to think we dont have a buddy down there now.


I will be gladly supporting his family with some financial support, as they come to terms with their loss.

Today is another day to take care guys. When you have a front that has passed and another just behind it, it can create a lot of turbulent gusts at the edifice of the air mass between them.

Condolences to the family. I was kiting with him yesterday. As we were starting to set up on the grass next to his van we had a good chat. He gave me some great advice and also suggested to a friend of ours that going out on a 17m Edge is a bad idea. Before long he was out blazing back an forth on his shin twin tip with a huge smile on his dial.

As I was about to launch the wind dropped so I discontinued and he came in so I landed his kite. He had a 30 min rest in his van then was straight back out there as the wind picked up. I then launched and as I entered the water he swooped past me and told me not to stand too long on the shore with my kite in the air. Then as I was out he swooped past again and told me that there's a shark so stay close to shore.

The conditions were horrible, rainy, gusty, onshore and sharky but he was loving it and in his element. I must have left very shorty before this tragic even occurred. I didn't know him well but being one of the last people to talk to him has left me feeling numb today. Take care peeps! Never rush or get complacent!

as a surfer (and non kiter) the last few weeks have been rubbish in perth and most days i have spent time sitting in the carpark at phone booths thoroughly enjoying watching you blokes and girls enjoying these fronts coming through at cott. One thing that struck me was the comradery you guys show, assisting each other with gear, kites, boards, both coming in and out of the water. I am so sorry to hear of the guys passing and i feel for the guys that assisted in everyway possible. Rest in Peace

Yeah Marc was always looking out for us - no matter what antics we were gettin up to.
In the last three days of kiting there, he'd pulled me out twice after going over the falls - tangling my lines in weed...

Yep, really horrible news.
Sincere condolences to the family and friends.

As a regular at Pelican point, I had the chance to share the water with him on multiple occasions.
His enthusiasm to the sport was contagious.
One particular session I will always remember... wind was light, we were the only two out on the water at Peli Pt. I was working hard to stay upwind and each time our paths were crossing we would look at each other with huge smiles on our faces and then we would scream "yahhhooooo!!" over and over again

I took a walk yesterday around 1pm in Cot and I saw Marc's van parked and his kite on the water.
Weather was crazy but he seems to have a lot of fun.
I hope you enjoyed every moment of it Marc.

Tragic.
Yes **** happens but:
As a pole boarder turned kiter I wear a helmet almost every time I go out. Once off shore, it just becomes a mount for the gopro but, when things go to ****, like a board flicked off up wind in a huge boost, or a self land or launch gone wrong when I donT get the the QR in time, the helmet...... Well, go head butt a brick wall without a helmet, then try it with one. If you follow my instructions you probably will not get to do the second part of the experiment.
