Just keep utilising reaources to investigate a dead end (probabky harassing the subject to boot?)?

How much investigation before it becomes government overreach?

Better gun control and limiting accesa to weapons would have made the perpertrators have to work much harder to achieve their goal. It's like making obvuous targets harder to attack, if you can deny obvious resources you can reduce likelihood and consequences of attacks.

are u saying they would have still ceased efforts even if they had double the resources available? You're dreaming if you think that some things don't slip through the cracks when govt departments are supposed to do more and more each year with same budget. We see the same with child protection issues and hospital ED waits for example.

It seems all we do is increase population each year (is there a cap?), obsess over real estate, dig stuff out of the ground and watch our manufacturing decline.

Why didn't we create a wealth fund with mining royalties like Norway? Australia has abundant natural resources but much of this goes to foreign shareholders and a few ultra wealthy people.

What does Australia look like in 50 years? 100 years? A country with 50 million people where every spot we hold dear is overcrowded and ultra expensive? That's the future? I've been here since 1978 (when Australia had 13 million) and seen the changes Australia has gone through in that time and the Australia I knew is getting lost to uncapped growth.

Apparently there's no agricultural land in Australia left that isn't contaminated with some form of chemical or pesticide. Wouldn't a leader look into this? What effect is this having on our health?

Have you seen the housing developments in the suburbs? A bunch of houses with no trees and black roofs. Is that the best we can do with our Aussie brains? Where's the vision? We're just copying American urban sprawl.

Of course Israel has a right to exist, but they should be aiming to behave like a democratic country, which they are not, and need to abide by international law, which they don't.

I get the feeling that some media and commentary is deliberately conflating Anti-Semitism with Anti-Zionism. Anti-Semitism is a clear-cut horrible blight on humanity and should not be tolerated. However, considered Anti Zionism is a viewpoint opposing an ideology, and far more nuanced than a 30-second sound bite. There are a number of Ultra Orthodox Jews, secular and left wing groups that oppose Zionism. If I understand correctly, they argue that Zionism is not synonymous with Israel's right to exist. The options for Israel and Palestine are not binary, and rather the solution exists somewhere along a spectrum that respects the rights of humanity for all parties.

I went to Bondi beach once.

Meh, not really for me. Too much concrete and too many people.

It was just knee high closeout straight-handers that day, and looked like it would be like that most of the time. I didn't go in and haven't been back since.
