I have used either a 7'8" or 8'11 DW boards. I have found the 8'11" to be the easiest to use and get up on. In my opinion, having a super thin board allows you get speed on the water and makes it easier to engage the foil.

I would say so also, until there is a better parawing design to handle overpowered conditions and gusts, my bet goes for longer efficient DW boards.

I'm still waiting for my parawing to arrive so I don't really know what I'm talking about but this seems like rock solid advice to me

Agree, all solid tips. I need to try his redeploy tip on my next run. Have increased my redeployment success rate by deliberately grabbing the leading edge during the pack down and making sure it is on top of the balled up wing but the longer the run the more likely I loose track of it so a more reliable method would be nice. Everything gets easier with time and good technique. If your rushing it's less likely to go well.

You can also try the opposite. When relaunching the Parawing immediately grab the front lines from the bar to guide the Parawing up into position. If it has spun it will unspin or just turn the bar a few times and usually all good to go. Always good to relaunch when still riding on a wave to give plenty of time to get reacquainted. I also wear Dakine sailing gloves just to protect from the lines.
