yes it changed. From a 50/50 profile to a race profile with reflex in the back.

So one explanation for it pumping better is the angles changed. If there was less downforce on the tail then there's less lift, more efficiency, and you'd get the lift back by moving the wings forward.

Does it ride with the mast in the same place - indicating a different angle somewhere - or does it ride with the wing in the same place(mast back) indicating that the angle stayed constant?

I imagine if this design changes was influenced by anything it would be Aguera's own speed run focused winging which would be consistent with both a tail up change in angle, mast back stability, and the racier foil.

This change can't be understated. On the new Armie mast, the improved section is a game changer, added stiffness aside. Literally brings new performance to existing wings. Makes sense that all the players are redirecting scrutiny from the wings to the mast sections.

Looking at the video I'd say the fuse is still straight as an arrow. That would be way too complicated to change the angles via the tapers.

If you move the fuse forward 50mm on the mast you'll be moving the mast back 50mm on the board.

Too bad, I just bought a 4x used 68mm for my downwind board for next to nothing. Had I known about this (I still would've bought it).

You wouldn't be able to see an angle change of .5 - 1 degrees on the video. Can someone throw an angle gauge on the back taper vs the front taper?

With size 50 feet, I probably wouldn't notice moving them a few centimeters one way or the other to compensate either. It's small enough you might only notice the difference after a few sessions.

Sounds like no angle change to me, just move the mast back about an inch...

It depend also if they reduced the overall length of the fuse. did they reduced it?

Gofoil is in a unique position because the stepped tips, allowing for insanely quick roll rates. They have the luxury of placing the mast back on the fuse. If GoFoils were stiffer turning, no way they could move the mast back.

Ride it and make up your own mind. Surprised me how well it went.

I've been using the v2 mast for a few seshes now feels better than the v1.5 less dragy definitely and feels like a better balance for pumping but I'm no pumping expert
hopefully get some decent breeze soon to see what speed gains I can find
Finish wise very nice how you would expect.

On GoFoil site now only one type of masts - V2. Not good! It will not work on bunch of modern foil boards with tracks moved forward. On my Fanatic Sky Free V1.5 mast already mounted all way back to end of tracks. Extra holes will not help: using them I can move mast back around 35mm, but V2 mast pushed front wing forward 50mm. GF have to keep making old configuration mast, may be with updated more streamlined mast shape.

On the v2 mast, with the same wing and tail I only moved it back about 25mm but you will find you will likely find the mast will allow you to ride at least a smaller tail and sometimes a smaller front wing also. With the smaller tail the mast will move forward again. It's early days but you need to try before you write it off. I noticed a lot of the Maui crew also seemed to drop tail size from 14.5 to 12.5. i am light and thought moving the front wing forward (v2) would create me problems but after two prone surfs on a borrowed v2 I must say there is some magic going on there for turning. I have always been committed to the short tails but when I just tried the long tail with the 850 I was shocked at balance and lovely turn. It's like the v2 change was balanced by the long tail.

I now have a 10.5 long tail in my possession and am waiting for the swell to retreat to try it but can't wait. It would be great to hear other people's experience of the v2 mast and particularly with a smaller but longer tail.

10.5" GF tail wing? I was just starting to think about demo-ing the 12.5
Sold my only Ft-s tail last year and have only used the longs, they turn plenty well enough for our conditions. The short tails seem better suited for small wave prone surfing.

I'm also interested to demo a V2 mast but don't see how I'd choose between 80 and 90cm. 85 is ideal but the V1.5 83 is close enough.
