Good things mostly. Sounds like 950 and 1200 v2 will be a good wing for a lot of people. Maybe like the new range slides the bar past the HS range in some categories.
Perhaps many of us are going the '90s Kelly Slater thin potato chip' route chasing the performance that elite riders have achieved, while the Twin Fin was all we every really needed. 1050 ain't ever leaving my quiver! (Unless that 950 is reallly good )

I asked Matt Nuzzo at Real how the 1200V2 compares to the HS1250. He said that it doesn't go as fast or glides as well but that it has a tighter turning radius and is quicker rail to rail. I'm hoping for a HS1250V2. something that benefits from what has been determined with the HS1550V2.

63kg ,Naish 85 litre carbon ultra sup, Had the use of a demo CF950 ,surf chest high ,what a great turning wing,faster I reckon than the HS , you cannot breach this wing . Thought the Hs wings were good for surfing waves but this wing is unreal for surfing , what I found with the HS wings I,d have to run off a bit of speed before turning but with the CF you could Wang turns at full speed and it was so controlled . I reckon it's a game changer for me ,worth a try if you can demo .

So what's the point ? Chop your 1250 and you shorten this rail to rail and radius turn differential somewhat. How many of us are good enough to hack aggressively rail to rail with tight radius anyhow.

then how's the pump back out to link up - crap comparatively by the sounds of it?
any good for downwind winging or prone downwinders. Nope - not with the lack of pump.

yeh not convinced except for certain uses of course.



ps nothing hacks rail to rail with small radius turns like the 725 anyhow.

Thinking about getting the 950 for wakefoiling. Loose, turny and forgiving sounds good. Only question I have is if the 1200 wouldn't be just as fun and be more versatile. I would like to wait to see what happens with HS but season is short and may ditch the boat next year. The half life guys (wakefoiling) thought the 950 was way too small for them but not sure I should trust them even though I'm close to their weight (180lb/80K).

Reading back thru this thread not a lot of love for the CFv2, but wonder if anyone has thoughts on the 950 vs 1200. Only considering 1200 because it looks almost as easy to turn as the 950 and should have a little better glide and may be more useful.

I think I will just wait and scoop up a second hand one . Best why to buy.

Why would the 950 be too small behind a boat? We only use the 725 - don't like any bigger. 950
would be a fat pig compared to the 725. So can't see why you want anything bigger than a 950. Smaller if anything?

I found this interesting too as they released a video a little while ago and they were using the HA925 behind the boat. I have a clipped 925 (maybe a 910 now) that I love behind the boat. Seems like the 950 would be fine for lighter weight riders. But let me know because I'm not buying one, hahaha

That's what I was thinking. So many references to 950 being only for smaller rider. Radair your comment above sounds like that size would not be 1st choice?
Half life guys looked like they were shredding with it and then said they would like to own the 1600? Makes no sense to me.

Talked to a guy briefly in Hood River who was just off the water on the CF950. Highly rated it but he looked pretty light. Wind was gusty 15-30 knots. I'm sure it would be fine for a heavier rider in 20 plus.

I plan on demoing some of the CF line, mainly the 950 the week of July 9th. I'll report my findings (winging).

I hope demoing becomes a part of the sales approach for all manufacturers.. I have a mate who rides cloud 9 and he has been able to demo all his wings before buying , I'm over the 'buy to try' routine.

that has to be the holy grail of wing foilers, to suit your average downwind conditions, bit of surf, bit of speed run, bit of carving ocean swells, all while switching the wing off.

Ive thought of buying a larger HA and chopping, how is the stall speed on that bad boy

I need to get more time on it. I just winged with it for the first time and can't wait to use it again. I have a couple sessions of wake foiling on it and it does everything well so far.

I'd love to try out a CF950 but I'm not buying one.

1200V2 WINGING INITIAL REVIEW. 15-30kt Maui conditions. 82kg. 85 mast, 60 fuse, 195 and V. I've been riding it back-to-back with the 1250. There's little reason to compare this to anything else, IMO.

This thing is incredibly fun and forgiving. The rail-to-rail is no joke. It carves harder and ventilates significantly better than the 1250. The 1250 is quicker, marginally faster, pumps better, and glides longer. I've attached some pictures comparing the two, with the 1550V2 added in for reference. I'm not able to attach them here so they're on my profile page, if interested. Note that the carbon fiber is twill woven, not plain woven like all other Armstrong wings, AFAIK. I'll be waiting for something like a 1250V2.

I gave up waiting and moved to Fanatic Aero Free with the 82te mast.
couldn't be happier at 90kg I no longer feel any wobbles mid 360 or in turbulent water and the Free 1000 is almost as quick as the 925 with similar glide but way better turns

Yeah not sure why the wait. I should point out that the 1200V2 handles white water really well-again, everything is just so easy. I have to be on my game when using something like the 925 or 725. I'm still 5 days in so will have to report back after a few weeks. I don't want to make any early conclusions but I think that this is more novelty than anything else-that is, for the relatively proficient rider (I'm by no means great at winging). I think it's best for the newer rider or maybe something to use when learning new things. I've heard the recovery is great for jumping. I don't jump so I can't comment.
