My Naish dealer has the HA1440 in stock, we compared it to the old 1400, similar thickness at the centre but it thins out rapidly towards the tips, a really nice looking wing.

Thanks for the info It will be interesting to see if Naish are increasing the Aspect Ratio of the HA range this year. The current circa 7 Aspect Ratio of the 2022/23 wings is now seen as MA for a lot of brands.

The 640 HA looks like a F-one eagle but with smaller winglets.

I did ride the 1090 Eagle after riding my Naish 1040 and they felt similar in small bumps and 12 knots. User friendly and great for turns and gliding.

I also have a 914 and have never used it since having the 1040, because the 914 feels like such a dog - unless you just want to go fast.
So I'll be interested in hearing if anyone has taken to grinder to the 914.

Very keen to get hold of the new foils that's for sure.

Kersh have you ridden the Mach 1's (1100/900)? If so how do they compare to the 1040 and 914?

I've got an 1100 mach 1 but I've never ridden a 1040 or 914 so I'm keen to see the differences/similarities?

Miles.... I rode the Mach 1 900 and found it very similar to my 914. Very temperamental and not very enjoyable in lighter winds ( 11-14kn ), even with a big wing. If it's 15kn+ it goes fast if all you want is speed.
But I prefer the 1040 - I can get that to fly at 10kn with a 7m wing, with easy take off and riding, whereas the 914 would be bloody hard as it stalls really quickly.
Riding the 1040 in 12-14kn with a 4 or 5m wing in swell is ideal, but it seems to lack a bit of glide. That's where I'm hoping the new foils come in.

Having said all that, one of the young guys I ride with used the 914 and loved it for speed and launching. But he wouldn't go out under 15kn, where as I'm an old bloke who just enjoys getting out on the water - not struggling and pumping like a mfker....

Do you know if they are bringing out new stabs as well, or sticking with the old ones?

The 220 HA rear stab is almost identical from the recent one, only the center section is slightly narrower.

In my opinion those upswept tips are there for a reason and a lot of design work went into them..

I cut my 220 down. removed the up swept tips.
gained speed, became looser, slight loss of lift countered by sliding the mast forward.
use it on 1240/1040/900 and 700 Mach ones.
works for me.
I did grab a spare 220 in case it didn't work as I live in the north west. I will sell the std 220 when I'm next in Perth.

I wouldn't cut the 914. It is faster and rides smaller than the Mach-1 900 already. It is a weapon of a foil. The Mach-1 is a little more forgiving and easier to ride, particularly in waves.

OK. A lot of the new gear launches next week. I have been trying to hold off spilling the beans, but thought i'd release a little teaser as what is coming is sensational.

New HA's. Yes, totally new. 640, 840, 1040, 1240, 1440 & 1840. All significantly higher aspect than the existing line.
Mach-1 is still in the line. It is one of the most fun wing specific foils for easy high speeds, amazing average speeds but with till ease of use and application.
Rear wings are continuing with the 310HA, 280HA and 22HA. There is a few new rears coming around Dec/Jan that will excite those looking to really push things, but the current HA line are still exceptional rears. A big "tip" if you're wishing to get radical on your existing HA rear, is to chop the tips down/off at the vertical, this will speed up your rear and lower drag at the cost of lateral and yaw stability.
Pump Wings are coming, but unfortunately they are still a little while off. From what I have seen they are worth the wait, but I do not have my samples yet, so not ridden.
New JET's. Possibly the best foils in their category, the new Ultra Jet is on rails, fast and controlled. I know no one is keen on lower AR foils these day, but these are ridiculous for the serious surfer, or high speed winger. Unmatched pitch and stability control, wikid powered speed and turns that will near break your knees before the let out.
Wing boards, yes.
DW boards you;ve seen, but yes, there's even one more coming.
Masts, there's some development here too.

Naish' line up is really solid for the upcoming season, many new additions, upgrades and tweaks. And there's lots more coming too!

Great news alright, and just in time to gift myself for, well ........ no reason at all.

I'm very interested to hear from the team regarding the high wind performance of the new foil wings. I'm currently riding the Mach 1 900 and interested in something that pumps better, not that the 900 is no good for pumping, but something with more area would be beneficial but without overfoiling.
The Mach 1 1100 overfoils at my 80kgs weight, maybe the new thinner Jet HA 1040 or even 1240 is the answer.

The website is true garbage, they just have an abstract saying how awesome everything is but lack providing any information. I mean it's kind of embarrassing for a company like that. They take way longer to release new stuff than the competition and then they don't even manage to provide basic information.

I was ace about to switch to gong entirely. But the wings look cool.

How is the new 1040? Is it worth buying if I have the old 1240 and the new mach1 900?

Thanks for posting that! That is a lot wider than the current 1040 (same width as the old 1400HA) and the aspect ratio looks good

Hey Pacoz, I agree with you. The website is seriously lacking in 'factual' information, dimensions, etc. I have a Naish Hover 85L Carbon Ultra, I'd like to buy a Naish Hover Carbon Ultra 72, or 82 ? but not enough info to help in the decision. You mentioned the Wings, that I do know about! The ADX is as good as anything on the market, fast, wide wind range, goes upwind like it's on rails. beautiful build quality, and at the moment seems under rated?

So a better day or should I say the wind didn't evaporate on hitting the water as it usually does here.
Ended up on a 4.0 with the new 1040.
first impression is it feels bigger in the air than the old 1040.I would say it's the same as my 1240ha.
Wind was between 10 and 20plus so very gusty.
I found the wider wingspan had me drop a few gybes which I think was from the additional power or torque from the wider wing.
As I leant into the turns the foil would straighten out thus spitting me off to leeward - no big deal just requires more finesse.
Unlike the 700/900 Mach 1's I use, this foil was silent dead downwind at speed which was max around 17 knots. Both my Mach 1's start to whistle at 17kn.
I think in light of the 1040 being so powered I'm thinking I will flick the 1240 as my big foil.
The pic below shows how close the 1240ha and the new 1040 are for size.
The major difference between the 2 is the foil thickness with the 1040 being maybe 2/3 or even less as thick and much finer on the entry.

Yes I think it's worth the upgrade
similar lift/power but I feel the 1040 IMO is the faster foil and it should be.
I guess more testing is needed in lighter winds to see how much difference is required for the 1040 to pop (fly) against the older 1240.

Hi Snides, what's your comparison to the Mach 1 900? The 900 is my full time ride in all conditions, pondering the 1040 or even the 1240 for better pumping and glide for swells. Tried the Mach 1 1100 but it overfoils at my 80kg weight. Maybe less thickness allows for a larger wing without being overfoiled.

I ride the previous S27 HA1040 and not sure how to look at, and decide on what to pick this new range for riding in swell with a wing. Not that interested in jumping or speed racing.

It will be interesting to get real water feedback in the next few weeks.

Thanks Snides, that's really useful. I'm trying to decide between the new 1040 or 1240. My go to at the moment is the old 1240 and I'm not sure if I want a wider foil, and your comment about the new 1040 feeling a similar size to the old 1240 makes me question my decision. But the swells around here are not brilliant and maybe the new 1240 will pump and glide a lot better (I am on the heavier side at 85ish kg) so don't want to loose the easy lift that the 1240 provides......I have the mach 1 for stronger winds.

On a side note. I found the specs for the new HA stabilisers. Does anyone know if the aspect ratios are the same as the previous HA stabs or if they have been increased?
